Certified Organic Shea Butter 8oz Block by Mary Tylor Naturals: USDA Certified Organic Unrefined Shea Butter Country of Origin: Ghana, Africa Scent: Light, nut Size: 8.0 oz Mary Tylor Naturals is a USDA certified organic manufacturer of Organic Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Jojoba Butter, Beeswax, Essential Oils, and Carrier Oils. We are located in Fort Meyer, Florida. Review: I was impressed by this product. The scent is a bit like cocoa butter. I mixed it with a new recipe for winter day cream and I had to melt it and after I mixed it and poured it in a cream jar. It took almost 3 hours to thicken and I believe it takes a few more hours to form like a real cream. Review: This shea butter is creamy but a bit strong. Never had it before but I like it.

I’m just getting started with making my own soap, so I’ve been trying to choose organic and sustainable ingredients. Mary Tylor’s unrefined organic shea butter seemed like a great fit—until I opened the package. The smell was extremely unpleasant right from the start. Because the texture felt wonderful on my skin, I really wanted to make it work. I tried adding essential oils, but the strong natural scent completely overpowered them. I even researched ways to reduce the smell of unrefined shea butter and left it out to air as suggested, but nothing helped. In the end, I realized I should have gone with refined shea butter for my projects. Unfortunately, this batch was unusable for me, and I ended up throwing it away. A disappointing experience, but definitely a lesson learned for future purchases.

I am in the process of switching to a natural/organic skincare routine. I have ordered other Shea butters in the past that are yellow from borututu bark. They were fine but discolored my white clothing/bedding. I gave Mary Taylor's organic Shea a shot because it is ivory and seemed like the company really cared about it's product. I can say it is definitely worth the money. It somehow is not as "greasy" as other shea butters. Doesn't seem to stain my whites at all!

I’ve been buying shea butter from another known company and for some reason it smells like play-doh. I’ve tried mixing it with other ingredients and the smell was horrible. After reading a few reviews, I decided to give Mary Tylor a try and I couldn’t be more pleased. The texture was soft and silky. I loved that they printed the expiration date on the label and it smells like REAL shea butter!!! I’m completely satisfied with my purchase.
