Would they hold up better if glued together?

Maybe - if you mean doubled up on top of each other. If you mean linked - like a real filmstrip would be - then no, it would certainly tear! My disappointment with the product is that they are SMALLer than they appear! (And very flimsy) Overall, they do the job of creating ‘film’ fun photos!

Would these work as mats for 8"x10" photos to go into 12"x12" frames (like record album frames)? Thanks

The description we have states they are Photo frames are approximately 12″ x 12″. so you could try to fit an 8x10 photo but maybe need another background to make up the difference in size of the frame
