Let's start off by saying this mount does NOT have an easy life. I have it screwed into the dash of my delivery step-van and my route is mostly rural. Potholes are basically as common as rocks where I work, so I needed something sturdy to hold up over time. The arm is made of metal, and feels very strong. I like the fact that the pivot ball is textured for extra grip and it seems to hold it's position pretty tightly. No complaints here. My biggest issue is the spring tensioned mount. This thing seriously needs a way to lock the spring in place, because not only does it allow my tablet to shake off overtime, but once the tablet hops off the mount the spring kicks back to its default position and literally turns my tablet into a projectile towards the floor. On day one it fell off and it dinged up my tablet, then on day 2 it completely shattered the screen, and I had JUST gotten that tablet. I had to switch to my phone for a bit and it started launching that too, so I finally gave up and zip-tied it down. Very sturdy arm but really needs a more study mount.

I actually used this for a home security system set up with a HEAVY 15.6 Android. It only slipped at first ball joint as my Android was too heavy. But the easy fix was to put a set screw in place to prevent slipping. I had to drill a hole through half of the ball joint. Picture included. All the other joints were sturdy. Great metal material. Wall mounted on ONE stud, so it fit perfectly!

This is a great tablet stand. We attached it in front of our kitchen sink so we could watch "tv" while we cook and clean up. We are super impressed with the quality. It holds the tablet (samsung galaxy tab a) great. It's very sturdy, I never worry about the tablet falling--which would be very bad because it's right over our sink. I particularly love the flexibility of it. You can asjust it so many different ways to make it exactly how you want it. It's really nice quality materials as well, doesn't feel cheap at all. We've been using it for several months and are very happy with it. One of the best Amazon purchases we made all year. It's worth every penny.

After researching mounts online I took a shot with this one and I am glad that I did. The construction quality is top notch. Only complaint I have is about the expanding spring mechanism, but it is more so of a gripe rather than a complaint. After four months of use it has held up wonderfully, but in comparison to the rest of the mount it seems more cheaply build. Despite that, this mount has worked wonderfully without a hitch. I installed it in my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, and off-road through bumps and undulations it keeps my iPad secure. There is a set screw on the back of the piece that slides into the expanding bracket portion; make sure to tighten this down securely or else it will wiggle. I spent about two months not knowin about it until I decided to tear it apart and see what the deal is. After tightening, this mount is absolutely rock solid and I am extremely happy with the purchase.

This bracket is absolutely fantastic! I am a professional voiceover talent and have a sound isolated vocal booth that I use for recording. The booth has 2 iPads in it - one that's mounted at eye level on a goose-neck bracket (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HTWS3Q0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage) and one that's mounted at waist level on this Arkon bracket. The goose-neck bracket that I use is excellent for the higher iPad that I use to display my scripts because I can easily reposition it for easy viewing when I'm using different microphones, different mic positions, sitting on a bar stool, standing, etc. The Arkon bracket is perfect for the second iPad, which is lower and which I use to control my digital audio workstation while in the booth. This iPad is constantly being tapped, pressed, swiped, and thumped as I rewind, record pick ups, scroll back and verify a take, etc. The Arkon bracket's ball joints and locking knobs provide a perfectly secure, no sag, stable platform for the iPad and it never budges as I use it. The flexible arms also grip the iPad securely (I use one long set and one short set on an iPad 2) and I never have to worry about it falling out of the bracket. Rock solid, nicely adjustable for angle and position, and perfect for iPads that need to be secure!

Great value, works great

After several weeks of use I decided to finally leave my reviews of this tablet mount. I installed this mount to my Bowflex TreadClimber using some screws I had laying around to the plastic casing around the controls. Now I find this unit to be sturdy even with the machine vibrations from the treadles moving up and down. I think the construction is great and I actually prefer the actual part that holds the tablet to be plastic as it will prevent marking up your tablet. I believe other reviews suggested it being metal but I don't think that would be a good idea. Overall I am very impressed and I would purchase again if I need another one. Now there are only 2 things that I fixed and only because it was bothering me. Pictures included. 1st is the screw that holds the metal ball to the mount was loose so I tightened it no big deal. The 2nd think I did was added a thin piece of cardboard between the mount and ipad cradle so stiffen it up. Prior to these 2 "mods" the iPad cradle swivel slightly left to right. Again this was only because it bugged me knowing it could do that, with the weight of the ipad once it was placed in the mount (prior to the 2 fixes) it didnt shift around anyhow. So it's not like it needed to be done as the iPad didnt bounce around or swivel left to right. Most ipad/cellphone mounts with this type of system always have that little bit of play so I think it's just inherited to the design. Again I would highly recommend this mount and I really like the build quality of it. When I first took it out of the package a few weeks ago I was impressed even before I started using it. I still thought it would have shaked while on my machine even with the built quality but I was wrong it functions as good as it looks!!!! P.S - I would mark the sturdiness 4.5 stars if I could due to the slight swivel of the mount and ipad cradle but I can't. So I'd rather give it a 5 star rather than 4 star. Again a good majority of mounts like this all do the same thing from my experience.
