Very good devices, connected up to existing network running powerline adapters with no major issues.
Connected these up to two previous Netgear power link adapters that I had already located around the house and they work fine with them. You never get the fully advertised 500Mbps through put so don't expect to be getting speeds that quick but when testing the device I've got around 370Mbps with sockets on the same breaker and around 180Mbps with sockets on a different one. This is still plenty to get even the fastest broadban line in the UK (Virgin Media 150Mbps) connection all the way round you house and it's far more reliable that a wireless connection.I've connected unmanaged switches off each of my power link adapters and have upto 8 devices connected to them and they've always handled whatever traffic has been chucked at them.I do prefer the pass through devices as they don't take up one of your wall sockets then but they end up being far more expensive so I've gone with sacrificing the socket. One issue I did have when I connected the new devices up to the existing network was the encryption key not matching up. For some reason If I tried to get the devices to set the key up again I couldn't get it to do it. In the end I ended up connecting to the existing network and running the powerline adapter utility on my pc and configuring both the existing devices to have a key that I defined. I then went to the new device, plugged my laptop straight into that and run the utility again and set it up on there to have the same key then when i refreshed the software it found all the devices. To be completely honest the easier solution with hind sight would probably have been to just reset the existing two and start again but I did it the far more complicated way but thats my own fault.Having said all that I would still recommend the device as they are definitely better than wireless and definitely better than having to run cables all over the house.

Isn't it nice when things just work?
I've recently had a log cabin built in the garden for the purpose of running my business from it. Obviously this required paying an electrician an obscene amount of money to run the electrics and network cables from the consumer unit, under the ground and in to the cabin. However, once he had charged me eleventy billion pounds for sorting the electrics out, he said I had a choice for the broadband: I could either spend £300 on running cables from the house to the garden, or I could go onto Amazon and spend £25 on one of these adapter things. He explained that all I needed to do was plug one into my router and another into any socket in the property and it would magically pick up my broadband from the electrical supply. Needless to say I was dubious but the thought of having to sell my kidney to pay for the cabling option convinced me to give it a go.It was £25 well spent. I plugged them both in, switched my computer on, connected to the internet fully expecting to see the "cannot connect to the internet" message and... it connected me to the internet. Brilliant. I love it! Not only has it saved me several hundred pounds (and a kidney) but it also means less wires and cables cluttering up the place. It's not perfect; it does seem to lose the connection at least twice a day which is either due to interference on the line or because the electrics were wired in my house 20 years ago by an imbecile. Either way, it is a small issue but one that is more than made up for by the convenience and money-saving aspect.

Decent tackle
Had loads of trouble with a crappy router that cost me about £100 and is worth a tenner (Belkin) So before throwing said router into the nearest pond, I thought I would give these a try. Glad I did!!! Some other reviewers have complained of the signal 'dropping out' I haven't had that experience, they work perfectly and no fiddly pairing process. They worked straight away. They do 'go to sleep' though but it's not a problem. Sometimes they need a nudge to wake them up. easy done. Flick the socket off for a few seconds then back on or click 'troubleshoot problems' icon on the toolbar. The PC makes a few buzzing and farting noises for a couple of seconds then up and running again. Good s***!

Maybe 500, but the ethernet either side is limited to 100mb so buy a cheaper one.
I've had Solwise 200mb adapters over a length of cable to a workshop about 50 metres. They ran at 150mb between themselves, but only connected to the network switches at 100mb (even though the switches are gigabit switches). I got these because the blurb indicates they are 'gigabit' adapters whcih connect at 500mb and because based on experience with other netgear devices, I trust them to be hones in their claims. Well no. In that respect, even though the speed over the wire is (in my case 350mb), the throughput (that we all want) is gated by the switch or device at each end, (which are either 100mb or 1000mb, and since this device will only connect to a gigabit ethernet adapter at 100mb, then you will only ever get 100mb throughput max. In which case save your cash and buy a lower rated powerline adapter. All manufacturers seem to mislead consumers in this respect. So I may return them.

Does what it says
There isn't much to be said about this product. Incredibly simple set-up, plug it in and it just works. It's one of those things where it is so simple to do, you're sure you've done it wrong, it couldn't have been that simple. I'll update if I suffer any longevity problems, but for now after a few tests and moves, I would highly recommend this.I chose this product as I had decided that a wired network suited my needs and budget best. I stream video from my computer or NAS to various media players and TVs in the house. My current wireless just wasn't up to the task and I didn't want to spend a fortune buying all manner of new wireless gear. I can't say for sure what speeds i'm achieving but I can stream 1080p video flawlessly, so i'm happy.I will likely buy a couple more of these, though the price shot up after I bought them, so I may wait. For anyone with concerns, i'm using this plugged into a switch and into an extension lead, both seem to work just fine.
