Wonderful cable needles
These cable needles are amazing. I am so glad I ordered two packs. They hold the stitches without any slippage at all, and because they're nice and short, they're really easy to knit from and will speed up my Aran projects. Wonderful design.

Great cable needles!
I was used to v-shape cable needles and I gave these a try. I love the wood feeling, the points are rounded so they don't poke the regular needles (I use wood also for those and that's why I wanted to try wood for cable needles as well). The combination of wood texture and the thinner portion in the middle of the needle make the yarn stay in place while knitting the rest of the pattern. I tried also hook cable needles which are good for being out of the way and have the yarn not slip out, but with those it is more difficult to work directly from them so I have to pass the stitches back on the regular needles to work them. This is not necessary with these needles, I can work the stitches I am holding on them directly. They are also very short so they are not on the way. Definitely recommended.

Just right cable needles
Brittany Cable Needles (3-Pack) - I'm very pleased with my purchase. These cable needles are ultra smooth, allowing for uninterrupted cable work. I thought the cable needles that have little grooves in them slowed up my cable work. They tended to hold onto the stitches a bit too much, which became problematic when it came to sliding the loops off the needle to work. The Brittany smooth hold the stitches with just the right tension to prevent them from slipping off while allowing them to be easily removed for working. Three different sizes are in one package - so very handy. They are well made; no snags. They slightly flare near the ends which allow your stitches to sit secure in the center, while allowing you to easily remove them when it's time to work the stitch. Very hand, as well, for that occasionally dropped stitch :) Well worth the purchase price. Larger cable needles are also available for working chunkier yarns.

Beautiful and functional
They are beautifully crafted and the design is extremely functional. Because it is one piece of wood that is smoothly sanded, there are no joins or bumps to snag your delicate yarn. Since the needle is essentially straight without the concave dip of most cable needles, I find it easier to slide the stitches on and off. The length works for me and I've only used the smallest size. The tips are narrow but not needle-sharp which works for me. I've had it for 6 months, used it for 3-4 projects and never had a problem. I won't be using other cable needles as long as these last.

What a surprise
When I saw a photo of this cable needle design, I thought — so short! Won't it fall out while I'm trying to use it? Nope. Between the surface texture of the wood, the slight narrowing in its center, and the fact that it's wonderfully lightweight, this little cable needle is a tenacious and easy to use tool that has made me love cabling even more than before. Until now, I've been using the same bent metal cable needle that's been in my toolkit since I learned to knit as a child. It's seen me through a lot, but compared to the Brittany set, it's heavy and and very slippery. I'll be retiring it in favor of these little bits of wood.

They still slip
These supposedly hold your stitches without slipping but you still have to watch carefully that they don’t slide off. You can barely tell there’s an indentation. I think the design would be better if the center part was either a tad bit rougher or a more pronounced dip in the center. I do like them better than the Shepard s crook design though.

Good cable needles!
I am obnoxious, in that I seem to prefer to use different kinds of cable needles while working on the same project. I get bored with one and then move on to another. These are great in my rotation. I don't think I am normal, but that's ok.
