The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens has been a fantastic addition to my Sony setup. It fits perfectly and delivers beautiful, sharp images with rich color and great depth of field. For a lens at this price point, the photo quality is truly impressive. It performs like something much more expensive. It is a bit on the bulky and heavier side compared to other lenses in this range that I own, but that’s a small trade-off for the clarity and low-light performance it offers. Whether for everyday photography or creative shots, it’s a solid, budget-friendly investment that consistently produces professional-looking results. Definitely worth the buy.

This is a very good lens no doubt. More so for the price. I'm a photography enthusiast and all those pictures were taken with this lens on the Sony ZVE-10 within less than a month of my getting into photography. One big thing about this lens is that is unexpectedly very good in low light. Clearly, its very low aperture of f1.8 makes it collect much light and consequently have better nighttime performance but still, the images that this lens outputs at night are simply shockingly stunning. The only major challenge you can have with this at night is the dynamic range of your camera. I'm very big on bokeh and this lens does perform - albeit not well enough for me. The bokeh is quite decent if the object in focus is close enough (although for portraits, your subject can feel invaded because of the proximity that will be required to get the best bokeh). From my use, I found that it has very unnoticeable to no chromatic aberration in almost all situations & it has a fair bit of distortion but it's nothing that can't be easily fixed in post-production if you are shooting raw. The fact that it is a wide-angle lens means it's able to capture a lot at once as you can see in some of those nighttime pictures in a performance. That said, this is a very capable and fairly flexible lens. It can handle both wide-angle shots & night-time photography well with good results (although not the best) when taking portraits. Because I'm big on portraits and would be primarily using it with my camera to record a human subject, I decided to return this go for its other sibling - the Sigma 30mm. I can expect better bokeh and portrait shots from that with similar night performance although poorer chromatic aberration overall. Nonetheless, even with the shortcomings of this lens, it is still a very good one and most definitely a great value for its price.

Have wanted one of these for a long time, finally bought another camera body & decided I was pulling the trigger on one of these Sigma 16mms - Pairs with my Sony ZV-E10 II amazingly! Nice wide shots, not to heavy, turned down to 1.4 with a ND filter it makes amazing Bokeh. Just what I needed for some nice vlogging and interview wide shots.

I purchased this Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary from Co-Yuzu-SHOP listed as "Used - Very Good." I was slightly concerned about the lack of original packaging, but the seller did an incredible job. The lens arrived encased in multiple layers of thick bubble wrap and was perfectly secure. Upon inspection, I honestly could not tell that this lens had ever been used. There were zero scratches on the glass or body, and the internals were completely free of dust. It looks and functions exactly like a brand-new unit. Performance for Streaming/Webcam Use: I am using this primarily as a high-end webcam for my home studio. It is connected via Micro-HDMI to a dedicated video capture card, and the results are stunning. Image Quality: The clarity is exceptional. It provides a level of detail and professional background blur (bokeh) that no standard webcam can replicate. Color Accuracy: The colors are natural and "on point" right out of the box. Autofocus: The focus is extremely fast and reliable. It tracks movement instantly, ensuring I stay sharp even if I move around during a stream. The autofocus performance is amazing, and wow it is so comfortable focusing at almost any distance! Just used it at my desk to walk someone through some detail work modding arcade buttons and I was able to freely move individual parts just inches from the lens to show specifics and pull back again to do more work, and each time it found me and focused on what was important right away. Absolutely drinks light, and the image is wonderfully sharp. I am no pro photographer, but I have to say that all the reviews I watched for this thing hyping it up didn't even do it justice. My only regret is not buying it a few years back when it was a few hundred less expensive, but I was lucky enough to mostly get it using gift cards. EXCELLENT video and photography lens on my a6000.
