## Description

Product description

Review: Good value and very strong. - It's definitely UHMWPE core. It doesn't melt, it's slippery, and it's very strong. To test, I spliced an eye, put it on a cleat, and loaded the other end on a winch. Since that worked, I installed it as the tack line for my spinnaker. In the video, we're doing 16kts in 18-20kts of wind. The spinnaker is over 1000 sq ft (45m2). At the very least, we would have seen stretch in a polyester core rope and there was no stretch in this line. Splicing is about the same as any similar rope. A brummel splice without cover is easy; re-covering is hard. I chose the lazy route.
Review: Excellent handling line. - Spliced and handled well. Have only used the sheets twice, but working out fine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good rope, but hard to splice
*by E***L on February 12, 2026*

Seems like good rope as long as you don't need to splice it. The polyester cover is very tightly woven and the UHMWPE core is uncoated and very loose. With something like Samson Warpspeed you can just strip the cover off and eye splice the coated 12-strand core like a regular single braid dyneema, but I really don't think that this rope should be used with its loose floppy core uncovered. It is probably easy enough to do a covered splice with the cover tail seized and whipped at the throat, but I prefer to bury the cover tail. I tried the technique in the Yale video of their high-performance double braid splice as it is generally good with loose core lines, but there was no way to get the core to bury. Usually, with a bit of hammering, flexing, winching, dish soap, etc, you can eventually get the full bury, but not on this stuff. This is the first rope that defeated me Finally, I stripped off a couple of meters of cover and replaced it with dyneema chafe sleeve and did the splice with that, and that worked perfectly. I followed the Premium Ropes strip and recover video. It all worked out for me because it was 200' of 12mm line, so the money saved over the equivalent line from New England or Samson or Marlow was considerable, maybe even enough to make the extra hassle of a more complex splice worth while. Maybe. I would suggest if you are a neophyte at splicing, don't start with this stuff, and if you are an expert, you'll succeed only by delving into your bag of tricks.
