Lightweight, grippy, comfy
Couldn’t get the color I wanted but settled for olive green, which really isn’t bad at all. Look black in led lighting. But are green in reg lights. They’re mesh & not waterproof; just water resistant (to what degree, TBD). Wore for first time in mid 40 temps & could feel cool air in them. Grass was covered in dew but lower front portion of shoes are rubber & blocked lawn water well; toes remained dry. Very very breathable. That’s a plus!! More comfortable than I expected. Sides & soles are a bit stiff, but loosened up a bit after wearing. Better & stronger sides & soles than sneakers. Very stable footwear! Soles are grippy. Solid feel while walking on uneven terrain. I wear wide shoes & although I bought a non-wide pair of theses shoes, they do have room for a pair of good work sox. Might need heavy sox if you have narrow feet. Think “all terrain water resistant sneaker” not a “waterproof go thru anything shoe”. But well worth what I paid. Very sturdy! I bought a pair of Columbia Newton Ridge Plus last year. Indestructible; show hardly any wear. Those go thru anything. Bought a size with “wide” - perfect fit!!

Great outdoor shoes
Bought these shoes before a 19.1mi, 5,000ft+ elevation gain backpacking trip. Didn’t have time to break them in. They were great. Held up on the trip well. Comfortable and water-resistant. Laces come untied a bit with extended use, but I won’t dock a star because this can be fixed with a double-knot or new laces. Bought them for a steal and feel I already got my money’s worth in that single trip! They seem to be ready for adventures to come. Picture is post-trip.

Sticks like glue to snow
I would consider these a cross between a running shoe and a hiking shoe. The upper is a little stiffer than a running shoe, but is breathable. The foot bed is nicely cushioned and that comes from a Hoka lover. The sole is what was the big surprise, most shoes like this have a black rubber sole that get slippery when it gets cold. These are more like gum rubber with deep traction lugs; like snow tires for your feet. Some might consider the “boring blue” a little too boring but I like the understated look myself. I happened to find them on amazon for around 65 dollars, I think the list is around 90, not sure they are a good deal at 90 but definitely worth 65.
