The Chaco Sandal Company was founded in 1988 by Mark Pagen. Mark worked in a custom shoe maker in Northern California from the late 1970s to the 1980s. After that, he moved to Colorado and had a local river guide, but he was not satisfied with the outdoor sports footwear sold at the time, he decided to make his own sandals using his experience and knowledge of being a shoe maker. And the Chaco sandal was started. The first sandals he made are popular with the good reviews and many friends ask them to create. Many of the current features of the Chaco sandal such as the Z2 strap shape and the sole that can be rearranged from the beginning.
