LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle 71043 Building Set - Model Kit with Minifigures, Featuring Wand, Boats, and Spider Figure, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff Accessories, Collectible for Adults and Teens

Bought this for my son last Christmas. He is a huge Harry Potter and Lego fan and it was his first Christmas back home so I wanted to spoil him a bit. Everything about this set was awesome. Durable, huge in size, quality that comes from Lego and I think it was a great value! This would be a great gift and fun time for kids and adults alike!!

So it took me most of two days to build this and my fingers were absolutely raw when I was done but it was worth the effort and super fun to build. If you don't know, this is Lego's second largest set behind the millennium falcon which is only a bit larger but WAY more expensive. The completed build actually splits in half to better move it. There was a previous "Hogwarts castle" set years ago but it was nowhere near this level. This thing looks unmistakably like Hogwarts castle to anyone that looks at it...very accurate. If I had to nitpick I would say that while the outside is super detailed, because of the scale being different than most sets (this is more micro scale) the interiors can be a bit abstract from what most are used to. It used the really tiny figures (other than the house founders). The stickers included in the set are what really helps sell what each room is, providing the necessary details. A few of the rooms are not exactly where they would be if this were the real Hogwarts castle which was also true for the Simpsons house set. Finally, there is quite a chunk of the building missing on the right side which is a bummer but I can't imagine this set being any larger and if it were any smaller detail would be lost so I can't complain too much.

Why BEWARE? Because The identical product is sold for both $400 and $600 on Amazon. The product in the lego store is $400, so don’t make the mistake of buying the more expensive one. I got this to do a couples-project with my wife; an excercise in mutual self-control and teamwork, to see if we could get though it without divorcing; so far so good. I’ve never done Legos before and was very very impressed. The directions are superb; clear, precise, and correct. The parts are kept in individual smaller-project/building component bags rather than being delivered, as in some 3D puzzles, in a huge jumbled, worthless, pile. Of 6020 pieces, only one was missing, and this was immediately replaced free by calling Lego. (Customer service also was excellent.) The castle itself is lovely, wonderfully conceived, and is a work of art. There are many smaller feature (moving staircases, Dumbuldore’s office, the Basilisk vault, etc.) which refer to the books and movies and demonstrate an excellent knowledge of these sources. Overall, a hell of a lot of fun with an excellent product from a good company.

Albeit expensive, this is a very impressive set. I got this for my daughter as a Christmas present. She is a huge Harry Potter fan. We are still building but so far I am completely blown away with the detail this set has. It’s mind boggling how a Lego designer came up with this build. I have such respect for their design skills. With the amazing detail comes a very tedious build. There are a lot of small pieces that require precise assembly. If you like that sort of attention to detail you will love this set. You get 4 regular sized figures. The micro figures are nothing more than drone figures. They do give the smaller scale rooms some realism but there’s no other purpose for them. We also purchased one of the 3rd party light kits and are installing them as we build. All parts come in sequential bags so you build small amounts of parts at a time. My only complaint is the instructions are not completely clear. Some pieces are shown graphically where they go and others are shown already in place so you spend some time playing “Where’s Waldo?” comparing pictures in the instructions to your build. This has lead to having to take things apart to place missing pieces and in some cases accidentally using the wrong colored piece in a assembly step. It’s not a problem if you are patient. That’s is the key here, patience. At the point we are at I am guessing that complete assembly will take about 30 hours. I can already tell that this set will be breathtaking when it’s completed. As a child I always wanted one of these large Lego sets. I love it and so does my daughter. Having a background in plastic molding I can see why the set is so expensive. The tooling required to produce some of the pieces in this set had to cost a small fortune. If you can swallow the cost I highly recommend this set. It is truly amazing.

Great gift idea! It has a lot of pieces that will bring a lot of fun with friends and family. It's going to be great once finished. Perfect size!

There is a missing 6x14 plate for the middle of the build I reported it to the Lego support site. I received an email stating the part shipped on 2/16/26, here it is 3/12/26 and still no part. $500 for castle my grandson cant complete. After contacting them again I just received the piece, they made good on it and my grandson couldnt be happier

My wife got me this Harry Potter Lego set for my birthday. Even though the price is a little higher, it is well worth the money. This Lego set comes with a brief overview of the team that put this set together and a neat informational piece about the set. This set has an incredible amount of detail from each book/movie. This is my first “large” Lego set I’ve built which took me a few days but everything is clear and concise in the manuals and the overall product looks great! This set is quite large, taller than it is wide. It is separable into two pieces when completed. Any child or adult will be happy with this set whether they like the Harry Potter series or not.

If you love legos and Harry Potter you must buy this! So many small pieces, so much detail! I bought a light kit from Game of Bricks to light this beauty up! Clear instructions. Great packaging. Absolutely beautiful set! It took me, by myself, as long to build as watching all 8 movies consecutively. If you’re thinking about buying this, you need to! I’m sad I’m done with it but it’s so incredibly stunning I’d build it all over again. Definitely appreciate all the extra little pieces. My only issue with this set is that it’s over and complete 😭. It is absolutely massive so have some place beautiful to display it! I do appreciate that both halves connect and disconnect easily making it a lot easier to move to its permanent home 😍❤️
