These are consistently well made and I find the size to be unobtrusive in the pocket . My favorite 'everyday' work knives .

I bought this to replace my lost 3 blade version. My dad used to carry a 3 blade like the one I lost which he used constantly in his trade as an electrician. I figured this 4 blade version would provide the same great service as the 3 blade version while providing a backup blade. I absolutely love the functionality and versatility of this little knife. It feels and functions just like the 3 blade version. The factory edge is very sharp and the overall quality is excellent. The same quality and performance of past generations makes this knife a classic. Schrade Cutlery is timeless. Utility: Very versatile Edge hold: Blade edge is very sharp and retentive Build quality: Schrade Cutlery is consistent Durability: I have several Old Timer knives that have lasted for years

Pretty good knife to carry in your pocket or leave in a tool chest. I just purchased my second one. I got 25 yrs use out of the first one and hope I get lots of good years use out of the one I just bought. This knife I have found is difficult to open at first. I've oiled it and worked the blades back and forth and it's still tough to open. My first Old Timer knife was much easier to open and that is the only reason why I give this current knife 4 out of 5 stars. I hope with lots of use it will loosen up a bit. I recommend this knife for purchase.

I hear a lot of people saying that Schrade quality is not what it used to be. I think that is kind of a nostalgic myth. It can be said of anything. Modern materials are every bit of quality. Schrade knives have always been noted for being rugged and simple at a good affordable price. This knife is every bit of that. I have been around tools and pocket knives my whole life, so I shopped long and hard for this one. It has all the blades I was looking for. Have used it in the shop, doing fine wood working, out in the yard gardening and under the counter doing plumbing. It is still sharp, only needing to strop it a few times here and there. It does have a few flaws, being an economical work knife. The only ones I will mention are the blades are a little thick, which takes some getting used to and the clearance in between the brass liners is too close. I understand that four blades are packed into a little knife and would take some re-engineering to make this better which would make the cost go up. I think if I use some fine grit sandpaper I can soften the edge of the brass liner so it's not so harsh. The other thing is the way the blades open is a little peculiar. I haven't quite figured it out yet but it seems that everytime I take it out of my pocket, I have to turn it around to open it, and the fingernail nick on the jack blade seems to be in an odd place. It's just one of those strange things that happen with personal preferences. Neither "flaw" is something I'm worried about. I love this knife, it's always in my pocket and it feels good in the hand.

The weight is right. It is not too heavy but you know it is in the pocket. The blade is thick and stiff. It is Not going to bend. The opening and locking action is positive and feel sturdy. Good spring action. The blades are straight. I do not think the blades are SST. I would need to keep it dry from rusting. It is a good knife. The finishing is perfect as it should be. Unfortunately it will be use as it made for working.
