Buckwheat is easy to grow and established quickly. Reaches full maturity in under 2 months. Great for attracting bees and beneficial insects to the garden. Improves and restores garden soil and will choke out stubborn weeds. Review: Easy and effective - In my garden I use buckwheat to improve soil. Supposedly it puts nitrogen back into the soil, which most plants take out. I have not verified this personally, but I trust the experts who say so. What I have noticed is how the consistency of the dirt that the buckwheat grows in gets really nice--easy to turn over and plant. The buckwheat itself is great in compost. My experience with these seeds has been quite pleasant. As a lazy gardener, I just sprinkle them on the ground and water, and the buckwheat grows like weeds. Review: Prolific Germination - It came well packaged but in a cheaper postage container. My husband is in shipping so we critique everything for it's common sense approach to mailing, It is meant to use as a green manure/cover crop in my brand new, used-to-be-grass lawn 2400 square foot vegetable garden. It comes up IMMEDIATELY. I did not seed it that thick but apparently the germination is also very good because it is thick in my Minnesota soil. Five pounds is a lot of seed so I am sharing with other gardeners. No doubt I will have buckwheat seed for many years.

Bees love it. Good for the garden rotation
Just received. Have little doubt they will germinate. Have used Buckwheat many times as a cover crop to build soil. Bees love it. Good for the garden rotation.

Great cover crop
Buckwheat helps condition the soil as a cover crop. Bees love it (I am a beekeeper) and it pops up in nothing flat and can be turned in or pulled out after only 30 days in the great. (if you need a fast soil conditioner)

Great
I plant buckwheat as a cover crop in the fall & winter. If you let it go to seed, it will plant itself besyde my garden plants. Itโs gear for bringing in pollinators early in the season.
