Here in Mexico, where I drive a 2014 EZGO RXV as my daily driver, the cobblestone roads really put my carts’s durability to the test. After four years, it has proven itself to be an impressively rugged little rig . When the original nine year old motor brake finally gave up and burned itself into carbon dust, I began searching for a replacement in Mexico. The availability was limited, with quoted prices ranging from $200- $700 US. I logged into Amazon US and found this replacement. The cost including shipping from Illinois to Chapala Mexico came to $175 US. I placed the order on Wednesday afternoon, with a promised delivery date on the following Monday. Instead I received the part very early on Saturday morning, a full two days early. I went right to work, and within thirty minutes had the new brake installed and working. I had already removed the old brake and cleaned the motor face and mounting bolts. The cart is running great again. Because some reviewers mentioned that they had experienced failures after a short period of time, I marked the date on the calendar, and will see how long this unit will lasts under these harsh conditions. I fully expect to be pleasantly surprised.

Fit my 2008 EZGO RXV. Easy to install Disconnect negative battery wire from last battery Turn key to reverse Remove tire and rear panel Unplug brake assembly Remove three 10mm bolts and remove brake assembly Clean motor side with SOS pad, stainless steel or wire brush till shiny clean Line up new brake with drive bolt (wire plug should be on top) and rotate to align 10mm bolt holes Start threading 10mm bolts by hand Torque 10mm bolts to 10 to 13 inch lbs. Note: bolts did no line up exactly with RXV motor, but they were only off a tiny bit. I was able to get them started by hand then I slowly turned them by wrench to make sure they were not stripping. They snugged right up and met 13 inch lbs torque. Make sure you lock washers are crushed after torque.

My brake failed, would continually drag, and smelled horrible. I easily replaced with the HD Switch and took my 2010 EZ GO RXV on a test run. It hasn't run this good in years! While the cart was down I also replaced the Solenoid Assembly and Jumper Run Plug. The price for this replacement motor brake is fantastic. This is THE ONE you want.

So this lasted about 2 minutes on our golf cart. The mounting holes were barely inline which made installation a challenge. After we got it on, we did a test drive and maybe went a couple of hundred feet before we lost power and started to smell the brake burning. We threw in the towel and bought a replacement from our local golf cart supply house. Twice as expensive, but the installation was super easy and its ran fine. I would stay away.

Exact replacement part. Fast shipping. Works great. Should have instructions for turning to tow mode and placing key in neutral so the bolt holes align easier. Youtube helped.

When I hit the brakes hard with old one installed the golf cart would stop real hard it almost sent me through the windshield. Shipped on time,15 minute install.Works great

Starting to get a pile these. I’d like to know or find a rebuild kit to keep from filling land fill. I have purchased 3 similar from different sellers. I have mastered changing these out. When you smell it it’s time to order a replacement. Others say buy OEM I would but if that only last a year also I’d be frustrated for spending the additional 150-200 they want with no guarantee. Honestly Yes my RXV may be faster than most. I let the cart slow itself and use break for stop sign. 3 stars for the value and it does its job.
