I would be lying if i said i knew exactly what i was signing up for when i got this but no , actually i thought this was some romcom based on the name and then i started reading it and never put it down! It is about life, adulting, friendships, love , everything. And i LOVE the way we can see her journey n live with her through each day of the week, the author wrote it beautifully <3 pls give it a read if you r looking for a warm hug n hope

It is confusing to rate this book. The story started as a 5 star with a beautiful deep story with all the necessary things. The plot was amazing, the character development was great. The bits and pieces of the humor was on point and welcoming. The point where Phoebe doesn't die just because she wants to hear the whole speech seemed kind a relatable to Human nature. I honestly was loving the book until suddenly everyone started loving Phoebe. Thus the second part did not seem that strong was a bit monotonous and illogical, but I would not say it was a bad read. The first part really amp up my expectations so I was definitely a bit disappointed but overall I loved it.

The story addresses the human spirit - its unfailing desire to endure, to belong, to love, and be loved - dashed with a sprinkle of humour. The middle sags a bit, but the bright and charismatic characters continued to draw me in. Follow Phoebe as she meets these strangers, see how they touch her life exactly at the moments she needs it, while she in turn touches theirs.

It’s not so much about the story but the way it has been told.. the people part of the story.. how unique yet relatable each character is.. I loved the conversations!! There are so many.. so many that you think you have also been part of at some point in life.. such beautiful phrases which you want to read again and again!!

They’re not just background noise, they become mirrors, lifelines, and reminders that kindness from strangers can matter more than we realize. The humor lands right when you need it, often cutting through heavier moments in a way that feels natural rather than forced. The story is more about the journey than the destination, and while the pacing wanders a bit in the middle, the emotional payoff is worth it. This is a book that understands sadness without defining itself by it. It talks about depression, disappointment, and the monotony of life with grace, never simplifying them, never making them the same for everyone. By the end, I didn’t just feel satisfied. I felt seen. The Wedding People is funny, aching, warm, and quietly hopeful. When a book is this popular, it may seem like there's not much left to say. But I have to weigh in, because this is one terrific book, full of heart and hope and humor, despite the fact that it seems, in its opening pages, to be going in a dark direction (it's not). I loved Alison Espach's writing, her quirky observations, and the surprising turns in the plot. And the characters are without exception engaging and likeable (I have a special, sneaking affection for the bride). When I really enjoy a book, it becomes something like a companion -- you just really want to spend time with it and share it with others. This one? I've recommended it to at least a half dozen people, and though I bought it only last February, I've read it myself three times. It's a treat.

I started off quite disliking this book. At first I scanned a few passages of descriptive as I found them excessive and unnecessary. But gradually as more dialogue developed, it became a real page-turner. And this is where the book shines; the sparkling, witty, amusing dialogue. It's all very middle-upper class New York, highly entertaining, funny, sad and engrossing. A very engaging book, thoroughly recommended.

Hermosa novela, con personajes reales, en movimiento y bien definidos. Es difícil cortar la lectura para seguir luego, te engancha desde el inicio. Mucho humor, diálogos exquisitos y una trama finamente armada. Muy recomendable.
