Impresionante
So small and so powerful, this engraver and cutter has impressed me. Its small and compact size makes it excellent when you need to take it from place to place, even on a trip, and the speed of installation is incredible because it requires nothing more than connecting the laser module, and that's it. We can agree that the format is small, only 13 centimeters, making it functional only for small jobs, but it's exactly what I needed. I don't really do any work larger than 10 centimeters at the moment, and if I have to do any work, well, I'll just get a bigger one. At first, I was a little skeptical about its performance, especially when cutting, but I've realized that if you make the right adjustments, it cuts smoothly with a fine and precise cut. It's great, and after acquiring it, I started asking around with some people who know it, and they are all convinced that this engraver/cutter is incredibly good for its price and size. I recommend it 100%.

โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Amazing Entry-Level Laser Engraver!
The ACMER S1 2500mW laser engraver really exceeded my expectations. Itโs easy to assemble, beginner-friendly, and the engraving quality is surprisingly sharp for its size. The laser is powerful enough to engrave wood, leather, acrylic, and even cut thin materials with clean edges. The machine runs smoothly, the app/software is simple to use, and the precision is excellent for detailed patterns and text. I also like the solid frame design โ it feels stable and safe during operation. If youโre looking for a reliable and affordable laser engraver for DIY projects, gifts, or small business work, this one is absolutely worth it!

Pretty Bad, Invest in Quality
For the price I wanted to like the Acmer S1 because it has a few things going for it. It's compact, doesn't require a ton of assembly, and it's fairly easy to get up and running. When everything is working correctly, the engraving quality is acceptable, though I would describe it as average rather than exceptional. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is reliability. The hardware and software behavior is incredibly inconsistent. The machine frequently seems to lose track of its home position, and there is no confidence that it will start from the same location from one job to the next. At times it appears to decide that a completely different location is "home," which makes repeatable work difficult. I also regularly encounter alarm errors claiming the laser is moving outside the work area even when the job is nowhere near the machine's boundaries. These false alarms interrupt jobs and make the overall experience frustrating. For hobby users who only need occasional engraving and don't mind troubleshooting, it may be acceptable. However, if you value consistency and predictability, be prepared for frequent software and positioning issues. The machine's ease of setup is outweighed by the amount of time spent dealing with errors and unreliable behavior.

Click the little green plug in the left top corner to get going also change com if no responses
Itโs a good product. It is kind of a challenge to figure out how to get it operating but one thing that really matters is your computer or laptop must have the upgrade I tried with an old computer but it would not connect with the laser and the program didnt completely download, but after I used a different laptop it worked. Just follow the instructions in the booklet and it works like a charm..

Awesome machine for Beginners
Now Iโve only had this thing for a month I believe, so I feel like this is an excellent choice for DIYers, and people who want to test the ropes of laser engraving before they invest in a bigger machine. But there is some pros and cons that Iโve noticed and Iโve tested different widths and materials and gotten mixed results. So this is going to be as thoughtful as I can given the fact I personally bought this to learn from scratch how to use it. Pros *Easy to install and begin to use right outside of the box. *The machine can make wonderful designs relatively fast. (Like most of what Iโve seen is 30 seconds to 5 minutes) *For being a foot away from my computer, the sound is not loud, nor annoying. I could hear it run for an hour and not lose my marbles. Iโd say itโs relatively the same sound as a microwave hum with the occasional squeak. Or a bathroom fans constant noise. (Depends on what youโre printing and on what item) *The device comes with eye protection, which is wonderful for me who loves to stare straight at something to make sure itโs working. (Not at all recommended to do though even if the glasses make it safer, protect your eyes!!) *if youโre a speedy worker and need to touch the engraved spot immediately, you can! Itโs not hot at all once the laser is done and it cools within seconds. (Atleast using plywood Iโm not sure about other things) Iโd also say this is a smart device for avoiding fires. *its tilt detection is almost so good itโs annoying. I try to pull my item out from under it, boom, it locks up. Itโs a very very easy fix though. One little button and itโs back to normal, and wonderful for those concerned of a safety issue. Cons *SVG files neither come with the device, or are simple to find and use. But that could be a beginner issue. (But to add to this, the free software they give you comes with โtestsโ to run such as cutting, speed vs power and other things.) *The more professional app to use this device as an artist would expect, is an extra $99. You can do an insane amount more only because the devices full potential does not exist without this app. *Ventilation should be more prominently displayed as an issue. I had to set up my fan to blow the smoke out of my room, granted, itโs a 50 sq ft room, with a window less than 5 ft away. But hold digression to your own self, some materials are toxic to burn and breathe in. *based on testing plywood (at sizes 1/4in, 1/2in 1/8in and 1/16in and then mdf (1/8in), the machine can not cut very well even in the smaller sizes. I intended on using it for making board game pieces, and only truly wanted it to cut through 1/8th. But at full power, and running 100 cycles around the exact item, it engraves fine, but only gets a fingernails width deep. I would say the 1/16th inch is the best it can do, and yes, Iโm aware itโs a 2.5mw laser, itโs only suggested up to 5mmโฆ which, atleast points to it being able to do 3/16sโฆ which is 1/16th bigger than 1/8th if Iโm not mistakenโฆ so it shouldnโt struggle. *Iโm just stating this incase someone needs all the possible scenarios, it needs to plug into a usb slot in a PC, which means you need either a laptop or computer. Incase you happened to have neither, sorry, itโs unable to do anything. Ending remarks Iโd suggest this item for diyers and folks willing to learn the ropes, but by no means is it of course professional grade unless youโre willing to purchase $99 in software and fiddle around with settings.

Impressive Power and Precision for the Price!
Iโve been really impressed with the ACMER S1 Laser Engraver so far! The setup was straightforward, and the instructions were clear enough that I was engraving within an hour. The laser is surprisingly powerful โ it cuts cleanly through wood and engraves with great detail. Perfect for small projects, crafts, and personalized gifts. Itโs compact but sturdy, and the accuracy is way better than I expected for this price range. The software takes a few minutes to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, itโs smooth sailing. Iโve already made a few custom signs and ornaments, and they came out amazing. If youโre looking for an affordable, reliable engraver to start DIY or small business projects, this one is a great pick!

Solid Performance
This laser engraver delivers excellent results when you follow the manufacturer's software settingsโthey provide a printed reference sheet with the device, which is helpful. The build quality and functionality are good The main limitation is handling tapered tumblers, which represents the majority of tumblers on the market. The device won't engrave evenly on these vessels unless you compensate for their angled sides. However, there's a straightforward workaround: create a wooden stabilizing ring in Lightburn by measuring the top and bottom circumferences of your tumbler, drawing two concentric circles, and cutting the ring-shaped pattern from plywood. Slide this jig onto the tumbler before loading it onto the rotary attachment to keep it perfectly level. A bit of duct tape or gorilla tape can provide extra security if needed. This is a capable engraver that produces clean, consistent results when properl configured. The tapered tumbler issue id easily solved with a simple DIY jig. Recommended for anyone serious about laser engraving, especially if you're willing to spend ten minutes fabricating an alignment tool.

Small work area, manual adjustments, calibration off
Difficult to figure out how to work, calibration is always off. Not worth the money. I've been trying to get this product to calibrate, and it's always off on one side. I missed the 'return window' by ONE day. :(
