Not only are the illustrations amazing and right on point but the descriptions are clear and thought provoking, (without all those tedious numbers and equations). I will admit my higher math skills are just slightly above abysmal but the author makes the concepts clear and easy to understand, and puts an interesting and often humorous twist on them. For example the chapter on the Mandelbrot set opens with a sub header; “Bugs, seahorses, and elephants, all the way down.” (Playing on the old physics joke.) Then the concepts are explained in a clear and understandable way. From Euclid to the Traveling Salesman Problem and on to the infinite, with some quite surprising relationships along the way.
