RUGPADUSA - Dual Surface - 2'6" x 8' - 1/4" Thick - Felt + Rubber - Non-Slip Backing Rug Pad - Safe for All Floors

We got a rug on sale (6'7" x 9'10") that didn't have much padding and kept slipping when we would vacuum it. Our previous rug had so much cushioning but we were tired of the long pile that made it difficult to clean. That said, I debated a lot about the thickness of the padding from 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2". Other reviews helped me decide on the 1/4" thickness and very glad I did. It offered enough padding and still keeps the low profile. Anu thicker and I think you would notice the height discrepancy. I opted to get the 8'x10' padding size since our rug was a strange size and I wanted to be able to cut it down to size. I went down a rabbit hole reading reviews of various padding brands and wanted the lowest VOC's since I have a very sensitive nose and just hate toxic smells in general. I took a chance with RUGPADUSA and so happy I did. The padding came very fast (next day delivery) which allowed me ample time to air it out before our sofa was delivered. Honestly, I didn't need the airing out time because there was no discernible odor emitting from the pad. Also, it came in a giant box where the pad was folded in half and then rolled so there weren't a lot of creases that needed to be flattened. The rubber bottom helps grip to the hardwood floors and the felt top adds ample padding and the bottom of our rug grips onto it well so we no longer have an issue with vacuuming. I was able to cut it down with scissors but then switched to an box cutter knife, straight edge ruler and self healing mat to make straighter and faster cuts. We were debating if we should cut it a few inches smaller than the rug size or the exact same size of the rug. We opted for inbetween. We didn't like feeling the pads a few inches after the rug's edge and having it right up to the edge of the rug didn't conceal the padding's edge, so I cut it about a quarter inch of clearance and I think the edges will flatten down more over time. It would have been harder to do this with a thicker pad. I was also able to use the access to create foot pads for our new sofa. I simply put the felt side down and the rubber side up and the sofa was able to slide into position easily and keep my floors protected. We used felt floor protecting pads with adhesive last time and the adhesive seeped into our floors which was difficult to remove and clean. Using the access felt with no adhesive is better in the long run and the rubber top grips to the furniture legs. Thankfully it's easy to conceal since we only applied the pads to the back legs of the sofa since the front legs sit in the rug. We have enough left over to use for a hallway runner. I highly recommend this padding from RUGPADUSA. No odor ✔️, no wrinkles ✔️, easy to cut to size ✔️, adequate padding ✔️, made in the USA ✔️

I bought even though I was worried about the reviews stating that it had a bad odor. I’m glad I didn’t listen to them. This pad is really nice. It fit my rug perfectly, helps us stay in place and is really cushioning. My mom and I unrolled it in the garage in case there was a smell but there is no odor at all. I think there was a bad batch that had the nasty odor. If you are on the fence about buying this, I say take the gamble. I’m really glad I did. My mom was really impressed with the cushioning and the price and she can be really tough to impress.

This is a really nice rug pad. It is a nice thickness, grips the floor very well, is true to size, and increases the comfort of the rug on top. The only issue I noticed is while it grips the floor very well, the rug can sometimes move on the felt material. It almost needs a bit more traction on the felt. Still a great buy though, a good quality product, and I would buy it again.

Overall, we're happy with these rug pads. They provide good cushioning, help keep the rugs in place, and have worked well since we installed them. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the sizing. We purchased a 9' x 12' rug pad for a 9' x 12' rug, but the pad was slightly too large and had to be trimmed to fit underneath the rug properly. It wasn't difficult to do, but I was surprised that a rug pad labeled for the same dimensions as the rug still needed to be cut down. Other than that, they've worked exactly as expected, and I'd buy them again knowing I'd probably need to trim them first.

Took a chance with this rugpad being on sale, and I was pleasantly surprised that it actually kept my long low pile runner rug in place over my hallway carpet (rubber side facing the area rug and felt side facing the carpet). Also appreciated the multiple size options which meant no need to manually trim to fit. I was so impressed that I ordered another one!

This rug pad is the perfect thickness and very well made. It costs considerably less that the one recommended from the site where I bought the rug. I did not know that it is made in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I used to live there and when the package arrived I thought it might be from a friend. The pad is so nice that it could have been a gift. Roll Tide! (although this will work for Auburn fans too!)

So far so good. We just installed it under our kitchen rug with low pile on tile floor. 1/4 in is not too thick as our table chairs that have wheels does not sink down and get caught. Just put it in yesterday. Nick did a lot of other options, AI even recommended this one 😉

I honestly did not hold out any hope for this pad. I'm used to the cheap vinyl junk that you put under an area rug. It rarely works, and you always regret the purchase. This one was for a 9x12 area rug. We wanted it to not move. Seeing felt and rubber backing, I figured why not? To my surprise, not only does it have felt, it has some type of additive on top which feels like dried glue to "grip" the carpet so it doesn't really move at all. Just because it has rubber, doesn't mean it won't slide around on that felt. The "grip" on the felt keeps it from sliding around. I'm very please. I did purchase a 3/8" high rug and the suggestion was to purchase a 1/8" pad. It's perfect! If I end up having issues, I'll update but for now, I've determined that I will never again have an area rug without this pad. Bonus is that it's Made in the USA.

I have purchased from this company twice and was totally satisfied both times. Good quality and still holding up extremely well.

A good product. Be careful of the size though. The ad says 8x10 but we received a 9x12 so instead of sending it back and waiting another week and a half I just cut it to size.
