can it be used for weed control as im digging out front garden and putting down stones. would this be strong enough to keep weeds at bay?

You need to put down a landscape fabric ( weed control geotextile ) if you lay polythene it will just become a swimming pool as it is waterproof . even though you are laying stones you don't want them flooding every time it rains ! Hope this helps

It comes as one pice in a roll, with the width having been folded over to make the width if the roll about a metre. You can unoll he length you Ned, cut it and then open the folds out to give an oblong piece of plastic sheeting which is very strong.

no not really it is not a breather membrane normally used on roofing, in can be used under a screed floor or situations like this or for or for covering wood and materials on a building site, I have used it as a damp proof layer on an external wall before I frame out, which will then become an internal wall ,
