This is one of those purchases that is very surprising, in a good way. Was expecting this to be an Amazon special and rather average. This is a fairly well designed and built safe. Heavy and solid. Lock mechanism works well and the key backup is a great idea. Surprising amount of room inside. I would put the security level of this at 5 out of 10. Great for ammo and equipment storage but I wouldn't rely on it for handgun storage. Would highly recommend!

Nice size safe and relatively easy to install (although supplied hardware is only usable for certain installations)

When i decided that I needed a safe I spent several days researching and checking sizes to fit my space. I finally decided on the Amazon Basic. When it arrived my husband asked several times if I was sure that THIS ONE was free shipping and under $90. He was impressed. It went together easily and is perfect in every way. I have no complaints at all.

I like it showed up the next day, I like the fingerprint scanner, I like that when you install it properly. It's going nowhere. If you are looking for a safe that will be the only thing left after a house fire, this is not your safe, that is in the Expensive isle. This is a there is zero chance of you getting this open or off the closet/guest room floor before you get caught safe. Easy setup, you should take the time to do several fingerprints. I like the big size. I used much more than I thought. The waterproof rating is good, I said what the heck and hit it with a 2300PSI power washer, the result was DRY on the inside, a few drops, but that thing can take the paint off a car, different than as if I threw it in a pool but not a bad test. In addition, the fingerprint scanner still worked after the water beating. Exactly what I needed and I did not know anything about safes or what to look at. Amazon basics nocked it out of the park with this one. I do think that if you have space, and means to get a fireproof & waterproof super ninja safe go for it but a safe that can survive a real fire / or water the cost must be extraordinary, fire-resistant means nothing, and water-resistant safe protects against water used to fight fires, so ideally you need a combination fireproof/waterproof safe. Sure would love one but the price for features gotta stick to my decision. This was a great purchase.

Dies not work without the key so the passcode is of no use. Not secure

Needed to buy a cabinet safe and looked on Amazon. I found this Amazon Basics steel safe and at £100 thought it looked like a great entry level safe. Took the risk of purchasing and since it arrived I have not had any issues. Everything was in the box, nothing missing, no damage to safe either. The electronic keypanel for setting up a code (3 to 8 digits) was extremely easy to follow. Also the two safe keys supplied worked fine. They are initially a little tight to push in but if you're gentle enough shouldn't have any problems gaining access to the safe if the batteries for the electronic side are exhausted. The only downside I found is that the electronics of the keypanel entry does protrude into the safe space which means you can't place items too far forward towards the safe door as the keypanel housing pushes on to your stored items. However I can live with that. For the price it is value for money and a wonderful entry level safe. Of course burglars could steal it if not secured to wall or floor, they could carry it away, even though it is heavy. For me just nice to have that extra layer of security on items that need protecting.

Me gusto todo de esta caja, el precio en un lector biometrico es excelente, y la sensibilidad óptima. Lo use para mi mami que por pérdida de memoria requería una ayuda máxima como “solo poner su dedito” lo recomiendo al maximo.
