Square Handheld - Portable POS - Credit Card Machine to Accept Payments for Restaurants, Retail, Beauty, and Professional Services

I’ve been using this since August 2025 at pop-up markets and vendor events, and it has been very effective. You can store your inventory in the app and quickly capture a photo or description to make a sale. It accepts all payments—tap, insert, or swipe—which improves sales since customers don’t always carry cash, and it provides a convenient, professional-looking payment method that elevates your business even on the go. One time, there was no Wi-Fi at a vendor event, and I made a sale with a debit card while offline. I wasn’t confident it went through and thought the customer might get the merchandise for free. But as soon as the Wi-Fi returned, the payment processed successfully. It doesn’t print receipts, but it’s eco-friendly because you can email or text receipts to customers, saving paper. The app also allows you to switch between multiple business names and locations, which is useful if you sell for different businesses or at multiple pop-up events. For example, I can toggle between my business and my daughter’s business and even include the pop-up location name for clarity. It’s very convenient because it doesn’t need to be plugged in—you just charge it and go. I make it a point to charge it the night before an event, and the battery lasts all day with no issues. It’s lightweight, comfortable to use, and reliable. Setup was quick and straightforward. It covers most needs for mobile sellers without requiring a large, bulky, or expensive point-of-sale system, and it works consistently for small vendors, food sellers, and anyone selling on the go.

Love it! Makes my life with a small retail business so much easier!! Have had no issues taking cards. And very easy to use!

This product is very nice and reliable, compact easy for transport

Very handy to use. I haven't had any issues with connecting via WiFi or hot spot. Easy to use. Barcode scanning is super nice. Just scan the barcode and it pops the product right into checkout. Works just like the phone version of POS but with barcode capabilities.

Update: i contaced square and they were able to create an update to fix the internet issues. If you get issues with an ip contact them and they will fix it right away. Changed my rating from 1 to 5 stars because of the customer service! Constant issues with connecting to the internet. Spend more time trying to get it connected than using it

Don't like how it doesn't automatically update when back in service area. You have to manually do that. Other than that not too bad

Quality seems excellent

Love the scanning feature, it helps complete orders quickly. Device is bigger than my phone but still light enough to carry. Screen works well, clear and even has locking abilities for when the device is not being used.
