It's powder and it's got protein, and it's vegan, so it does its job as far as vegan protein supplementation. But I've found I actually enjoy it in quite a few recipes, especially curries and chilies. It acts as a very potent thickener. In a chili, you can use it in place of corn starch or whatever other thickener you might use, and since it does taste basically like peas, it can add a nice flavor to such vegetable-rich dishes. I just wish it weren't quite such a good thickener. A little bit goes a LONG way as far as thickening stuff up. Wish I could add a bit more to stuff without it turning half-solid! Bottom line is, great product and to my surprise cooking with it is a joy.

There's no flavor, BUT, it's part of my breakfast smoothie. So, flavor is not an issue. Kept me full until lunch. Awesome.

I've been using this pea protein for several months now & am happy with it! I store it in a glass container & store it in the fridge. I've seen remarks about it being grainy. I put it in my morning coffee, along with coconut oil, organic apple cider vinegar, hot water & coconut milk. If you let it sit for a bit & then stir it again, it's not as grainy. It doesn't bother me at all. I don't eat much meat at all.

It's not bad for the price, but there are a few things to note that, had I known them before I purchased this, I may not have. One, pea protein still very much tastes like powdered peas, so you won't be throwing it into random recipes like unflavored whey isolates without completely ruining the flavor. You'll have to be creative and add it to savory things like soups or broths. Or beat some in with a few eggs to make a pretty killer "protein pancake" that goes great with sour cream, salted butter, guacamole, or even chili on top. Another important issue: pea protein only contains 8 of the 9 essential amino acids, so you can't live off of just this as a primary source of protein. Especially if you're a gastric sleeve owner like me, you'll need something more complete, like whey isolate. That said, I'm still using this up, slowly but surely. It's not all bad, given how cheap it was, and does the trick when used sparingly and appropriately. Just... well, go into this knowing that it's not just some run-of-the-mill flavorless protein powder you're gonna willy-nilly throw into any- and everything to enrich your diet. That's an idea you'll quickly regret. I'm not sure if that's just THIS brand or ALL pea proteins, hence I'm not about to knock it down too much for that. Like I said - I'm using it up, one way or another; I just won't be ordering more, and that's probably no fault of the manufacturer. If you know what you're buying, then I'm sure it's a fine product. Just not for gastric bypass patients and/or the uninitiated, like me.
