SINGER® M1000 (Black) Portable Mending Machine with Accessory Kit

We bought it as my wife wanted to try some DIY on her clothes. I was scared at first because I am used to those old school big sewing machines from back in the days. This solution was surprisingly good. So, far we have attempted to work on sarees (traditional indian), sherwani (indian) and cotton clothing. The machine works brilliantly. The thread and associated tools kit is also very helpful for a beginner to get started on sewing immediately. The instructions were easy to follow & we were up and running in no time. I would say that for think clothing, it does struggle at time which is expected given the size. But if does smartly it will be able to sew through. Definitely recommend.

I love this singer sewing machine it's lightweight easy to use. Not complicated at all. Instructions are easy to understand. I'd recommend it any time!!! So worth it!!

Ok - I got this machine over a year ago and I never really had time or energy to learn to use it. I am a very beginner sewist and I just wanted something to learn on. I have now used this thing for about 2 weeks and I am replacing it. 1. The feed dogs are weak and you have to pull the fabric. Being a new sewist I was like oh, this is normal. ITS NOT NORMAL. 2. The timing (as in bobbin catcher timing) messes up for me at least once a session. How do you fix it? You take it apart on the bottom and unscrew some keys. Not a big deal. But when it messes up multiple times a session, it becomes a big deal. I again, shrugged it off as I don't know what I'm doing until I talked to a friend who has been sewing for years - and she told me she has never touched timing before. 3. Bobbin jamming - bobbin jamming everywhere! The biggest issue as to why I'm throwing this piece of junk out is because of the bobbin jamming. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why it was happening. I fixed everything, then came back to it later with a new needle and new thread and it worked. Then it worked for a few days. Then it was broken again. I tried everything over again, no luck. This machine is not worth the money. I was hoping to buy it so it wouldn't take up a lot of space in my home. I even thought buying Singer instead of a random, cheaper brand was a good move. This thing is awful and I am appalled it has as many positive reviews as it does. I want to know if those people even used the device for more than 30 minutes before writing a review. If I had standards for machines I would have thrown it out sooner. I only wish I used it when it first came in so I could return it.

I loved the sewing machine!!! I bought in May 2025 and it’s now November 2025 bobbin wouldn’t move so the thread wouldn’t catch:( Hopefully Singer will send me a replacement! But fyi the bobbin area just gave out and won’t spin for the thread to catch it

This is very easy to use and has a standard set up. It is good for the money. I have been sewing by hand and thought I really don’t need a lot of features but front and back is good. So far the only problem I have is the thread keeps breaking and since the tread goes from the front to the back it is hard to thread the needle with a needle threader(my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be ) .the light also turns on as soon as you start working on the machine . I bought a case and it is light enough to be easily portable and is quiet. I like the machine a lot.

I bought this machine a year ago with maybe using it 4 times. It was doing a great job and now the bobbin mechanism won't "catch" through to merge with the needle/thread above. I took it into a sewing repair shop and they didn't help at all. I looked on YouTube for maybe instructions on how to fix with no luck. I'm really frustrated and disappointed as it was doing such a good job. I only use it for hemming purposes for dresses and tops. I would love to see if I could get some sort of refund or exchange on this machine if possible but I'm not having any luck with that either!

This video shows a regular experience in using this machine. The machine itself is easy to thread. But there is always an issue with alignment and jamming. The machine is all plastic so it is, as labeled, light weight. This is a product I recommend for a beginner (such as myself). Having problems helps you to learn, and this product does have a few issues, but given time learning the model and design and proper sewing techniques this product will sew.

Love this , I read alot of reviews and this one I the one I chose. It doesn't have all the little computer parts that will burn out and will cost a bunch to fix it! Plain basic but does the job with most home projects. Super easy to figure out as well

Great product for beginners. It seems really slow to me, also can’t do on thick fabrics too.
