I give this AHDECOR White Floating Wall Mounted Shelf a five-star rating because it is beautiful, elegant, well-made, and nicely designed. The only con is that it could be 10%—20% less pricey. It took me some trial and error to install this shelf successfully. Some of the reviews mentioned the shelf's stability issue or the lack of it. These reviews say they had difficulty to make the shelf fit tight to the wall, and that it dips slightly forward and wabbles. I'd like to address these concerns with my review here. First of all, the way you install this floating wall-mounted shelf is simple: you screw a bracket into the wall, then you insert the floating shelf onto the bracket’s two rods. There are two pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the shelf and two pre-drilled holes on the rods which align so that you could screw a screw into them to secure the shelf onto the bracket. How sturdy and steady the shelf post installation depends on whether one installs the unit onto the drywall or the studs. If you install the unit into a drywall, then it should be understood that your new floating shelf will not carry much weight and that it may shake a bit when touched. I installed the unit into the drywall. I could have installed it into one or two wall studs, but my wall stud finder didn't work. As one can see, my installation was successful and the shelf doesn't dip forward or wabble and it's tightly attached to the wall. I would recommend this product.

So I ordered this shelf to go on the wall under my flat screen tv because I wanted it to hold my blu ray player, roku, and maybe a few discs. I selected this one because I liked the shaped edges which appeared fancier than most of the others offered on Amazon. The shape reminded me of crown molding like a high end wooden shelf would have affixed to its edges. Upon unpacking it I noticed that one of the corners was missing paint (see photo). Not a huge deal as I was able to buy a white paint marker and touch it up, but still, not the first thing one wants to see when I boxing their “fancy” new shelf. I also noticed at that time how light the shelf is. Prior reviewers were right, the multi density board that hey used to make thing thing isn’t all that dense. However, it’s a shelf that’s rated to hold 12lbs or less, so wasn’t too worried about this. Onward to installation and prior reviewers’ comments about the shelf not sitting plumb to the wall. All I can say is, learn to do basic, simple carpentry. This shelf installs easily and comes out just fine if you follow the instructions and employ some basic common sense. I measured where I wanted the self to go, leveled it, marked the wall, drilled small pilot holes, sunk the plastic wall anchors ALL THE WAY INTO THE WALL UNTILL THEY WETE FLUSH, screwed in the mounting bar, slid the shelf over the bar, sunk the set screws into the bottom of the shelf to steady it against the mounting bar, and applied the two small, white, stickers provided over the screw holes. After installing this shelf I’m firmly convinced that the people complaining about it not sitting flush against the wall and/or being lose simply don’t understand that the shelf can never be more flush that the wall anchors that they’re mounting them into. Sink those anchors so they they’re flush against the wall and you’ll have a flush mounted shelf every time. I think that the manufacturer would do well to note this somewhere in the instructions as apparently this is a real problem for some. Once up I think the shelf looks great. It holds everything I need it to and lends a clean sort of look to what otherwise might appear as clutter. It is worth mentioning that the shelf came packaged pretty well. Lots of styrofoam protecting painted surfaces and wedged throughout the box to keep things from shifting. That said when I brought the box inside I still heard clanking as the mounting bar and hardware were moving around. A simple bit of tape could have prevented this and possibly saved the paint on the corner of my shelf. I’m giving this item 4 stars instead of 5 because of the scratched off paint on one corner and the metal components that were moving around in the package which should have been a quick, easy, fix at the factory.

I wanted a narrow shelf that was not too modern looking that would hang on the wall under the bedroom TV. The TV is mounted on the wall with a bracket that swivels and rotates. The shelf is a reasonably attractive wood look, which I liked. It is very light weight. It came with wall mollies and screws, none of which is sufficient to hang a wall shelf even if not a lot will be placed upon it. The wall bracket that is attached to the wall is made of substantial metal but what you use to hang it on the wall is not acceptable. We opted to center the bracket on a stud and used the center hole on the template, which seems to have no function as we could not find any reference to it in the instructions. (See template photo). Then since the other holes are not 16" on center, we obviously had to use mollies and screws. Once installed the shelf did not slide easily onto the protruding metal bars as it appears that the holes in the shelf are not lined up well or not drilled well. Once the shelf was slid onto the metal bars, it was obvious that we were having the same problem that others have reported, the shelf does not sit flush with the wall but rather tips forward away from the wall. We solved this problem by purchasing small decorative metal brackets and installing them underneath to hold up the shelf. Also since the electric, ethernet and antenna outlets were located lower to the floor the cables needed to go around or better yet through the shelf We purchased two SERVALITE 2-1/2-in Plastic Desk Grommets from Lowes and using a circle hole saw drilled through the shelf. A couple of notes, the shelf is made like a poor version of a hollow core door thus a very lightweight shelf material "reinforced" in a few places by a thin piece of particle board going from front to back. Of course one of those supports would be centered on the shelf and was affected by our drilling. However once the desk grommets were glued in place on top and bottom, they helped. You must use a grommet on both top and bottom due to the materials and construction of the shelf and they must be glued in place. Once the glue was dry the cords slipped through nicely and the grommet cap snapped in place. The manufacturer should consider a cable port as an upgrade.

I picked these shelves because they were almost twice the depth of the other ones. They fit picture frames and different decor perfectly. I put them on both sides of my tv. I also like the raised edges that make the shelves look a lot more expensive. Very sturdy and easy to put up. I looked for these at local stores as well as online and it was definitely the best price by far. Also I did have an issue with some being chipped but was provided excellent customer service.

Terrible, awful design. The bracket that mounts to the wall comes with useless drywall plugs that don’t fit snug. I tried using a different drywall plug and got the bracket to mount to the wall. The holes on the back of the shelf are way too big for the rods of the bracket preventing a snug fit. Another issue is the inside of the shelf is hollow and there’s nothing for the mounting rods to secure to. There’s two tiny ridiculous holes on the bottom of the shelf that two small screws are suppose to screw into the mounting rods to keep it secure. This is an epic fail. Since there’s very little shelf material for the mounting rods to be secured to you end up with a shaky, unstable shelf that tilts down because there’s nothing to secure it to. An absolutely terrible design. Do not buy!!

Let’s say that I can barely tie my shoes on, lol, that’s how bad I am even at the thought of installing something. I actually asked someone if they can refer me to a Superman to install it for me but since I don’t like having things lying around I decided to make the plunge. The instructions helped me, there is only the need to make three little holes in the wall where you desire your floating shelve to be placed. Since I am no guru at this I took advantage of the leveler to make sure it was positioned well along with making sure it was centered which my measuring tape helped me accomplish. Make sure you don’t throw the circle stickers since they are suppose to cover the nails on the bottom of the shelve which I did not keep. But I truly love the way it looks without the aid of a Superman!!!
