Works great and nice quality product

I installed this stopper on my side by side winch. It was easy to install and worked perfectly. I find this to be a good quality product and expect it to last the life of my winch. Everyone needs to have one of these to protect their winch cable and hook pin.

I have had these on all my machines with a winch and recommend them to any customer who doesn’t already have it. Install is quick and works great for saving the winch cable from some abuse. I’ve never had one wear out or get destroyed. Also gives you something to hold instead of the cable if you need to drag out line. If you have a winch on your machine you need one.

First, it is a softer rubber on purpose to allow some squish when against the fairlead. You are NOT supposed to reel the winch in expecting this rubber block to make it stop on its own, so all the reviews where they did that and split the block and said its junk don't know what they're doing. It's exactly what I expected and the through hole is right on at ½ inch diameter. I need closer to ¾, which I haven't been able to find, so I bolted mine together and threw it in the freezer overnight. The next day, once thoroughly cold and hard, I put it in my vice and high speed low feed drilled it out to ¾. I purposely squished it a little so the through hole is ovaled, wider in the direction perpendicular to the seams. Now it bolts onto my Apex 12k winch rope near the eyelet perfectly. The included bolts are m6-1.0. The only reason for ⅘ stars is the nuts have no locking feature, so I found four m6-1.0 nylock nuts and used them instead. FYI it came in a plain brown cardboard box, not the fancy branded one in the picture. Now I can remove the hook from my rope and reel it in until the rubber block touches the fairlead and leave it like that, so my jeep will no longer have the 🤪 look (rope hooked to a D ring) when not in use.
