This is going to sound like a fake review because I’m so hyped about this, but this is one of my best Amazon purchases of all time. If you like having your nails done / spend money on manicures at the salon on a regular basis (or even if you just want to start), this will seriously change your life. I have no reason to go to the salon anymore. I just can’t justify the expense now that I have this kit. For the price I had very low expectations, but I’m blown away by the quality and amount of stuff you get with this kit! It really works and it’s so easy!!! It’s SOOOO much faster than painting your nails the old way. As long as you can paint with your non-dominant hand (even if you can’t yet, it just takes practice), you can do a full gel manicure or pedicure in 10-15 minutes. It’s literally just file/buff, base coat, UV light, color, UV light, top coat, UV light - DONE. Or you can really take your time with it and get creative with tips, nail art, etc. The kit comes with really good quality nail files and tools too which alone are worth more than the price of the whole kit. And the colors are beautiful (just as pictured). Truly cannot recommend this enough. Also recommend buying a nail kit bag too (the ones that are made specifically to hold the UV light and tools and have little compartments for the polishes). Love love love!!! Ps: if you have any funky nails that bother you, you can buy clear press-ons on Amazon (fingers or toes!) and *good quality* nail glue, and paint the press on just like the other nails with the gel polish and UV light and it works great. My big toe press on has been going strong for 2 weeks!

My daughter bought this for my Mother’s Day gift! I’ve been really happy with this Beetles UV light system. It’s simple to use right out of the box—no complicated setup, just plug it in and it’s ready to go. It cures my gel polish evenly and fairly quickly, and I haven’t had any issues with spots not drying or anything like that. I also like that it’s roomy enough to fit my whole hand comfortably, which makes doing my nails at home a lot easier. For the price, it feels like a solid, reliable lamp. I’ve used it several times now and it’s been consistent every time. Definitely a good option if you’re doing your own gel nails at home and don’t want to spend a lot. I LOVE to have my nails painted - they always look so nice. However regular polish won’t stay on longer than 1 day without chipping and looking crappy so I hate wasting time on that. Going to the salon is great - my nails always look good, but it’s not as convenient as at home - PLUS I HATE how thin and brittle my nails get after I have them done professionally. I ask them not to file them so thin but they always do. So I’m left with thin brittle nails that peal and tear so easily. In comes Beetles 😍. I followed the directions EXACTLY (mostly - see below). File nails just to remove the shine (so they don’t get thin), push cuticles back, trim cuticles, and file/shape. I then rinse my hands with water & wipe my nails with alcohol wipes to be sure I get all the oil off. Thin layer of base coat, 2-3 thin layers of color, and thin layer of top coat. Be sure to cap the ends - this can be tedious but is so important to keep the ends from chipping and wearing off. A couple variations- the instructions say 60 seconds under the light. But all the bottles vary 60-120. I do 90-120 on all layers and twice on 120 for top coat (just to be sure lol). Then I wipe them again with an alcohol wipe - that’s it! These will last me up to 2 weeks, although I like to change the colors regularly because it’s fun lol. Taking them off is also super easy with a blue bottle of “Gel Remover” quick remover for gel nails. Highly recommend this - no soaking required 😉 Since Beetles has such an amazing color pallet I have a lot of colors. I did notice some of the colors do not match the color label on top of bottles the best so I bought some nail color things I could paint so I know exactly what each color will look like. I'm a long time salon-paying toes/hands...last time I paid over $120 for gel toes and basic gel hands, that was it for me. Paid less than $30 for this kit, includes all instructions and tools needed! First time ever and this is how my toes came out, very impressed of the quality even though the polish consistency is new to me I was able to get my toes done under 45 min with proper nail cleaning and even watching YouTube tutorials. For anyone else brand new at this, try not covering your whole nail for starters. After you file, buffer and properly set your nail put a thin layer of base (I personally cure 2x 60s) then use desired color and DO NOT go all around your nail circumference, more so cover as much without going "fully covered" then cure 1-3 layers then top coat 2x 60s also. The trick is setting proper foundation and top coat that they "sandwich " the color in sealed fully and properly. Chipping only happens when this is not followed properly, also make sure you always use alcohol or a dehydrator to clean after filing and buffering. Will update after 2 weeks, it says it should last around 3 weeks. Hand nails were way more difficult as an 1st timer and I will try again once this fully fall off.

If you like doing your own nails or want to avoid paying so much at the salon this is the gel kit for you. I’ve had it for 6+ months and love it. Comes with nude colors from light to dark as you can see in my pics. Has all the tools you need to give yourself a nice manicure. Takes practice because you have to do about two to three thin layers otherwise it burns in the UV light if you try to put too much polish at once. I love the option of matte or glossy finish. If done properly it will last about a couple weeks. I worked in the vet field and this was a perfect option because it did not chip as easily as salon gel nails and I would do dishes and chores at home and my nails would last a week with no chip. So if your work is light yours may last longer. I bought some nails stickers since I’m not good at nail art and they make my mani look salon grade. I did watch a YouTube video to help with how to use my set properly since I had never used it before. Now i always have a nice mani. I’ve even bought the beetle gel polish that changes colors and I love them for the winter time because it feels like I’m wearing two colors at once with the constant temp change in my hands. Also easy to remove with the 100% acetone technique. I highly recommend this set. I am planing on buying more of their colors. And this set lasts a good while as I still have enough on all my nudes.

1/13/21-As for right now I give this 5 stars! First of all it was delivered really fast. When it came, everything that was supposed to be there was in the box, only thing was one of the polished had leaked slightly, but it wasn’t bad and nothing a little polish remover couldn’t take care of. So let me just say, this kit is NICE. Especially for the price. The quality of the products is way better than I was anticipating, and it was all very easy to use. (This coming from someone who is honestly relatively good at doing her own nails) The kit came with two little pamphlets on using the products the right way and using the LED lamp properly and efficiently. What was really helpful and insightful was the Q&A in one that had questions about when your manicure doesn’t come out right, read it first so you know what to do and not to do in those cases. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and time will tell how long the manicure lasts!!! UPDATE 2/11/21: I have changed my rating to 3 stars. I have done a few manicures on myself over the past month of having this kit and honestly- it just doesn’t last. Manicures will last a week, AT MOST. The pedicure I did has lasted weeks, but not manicures. After about 4 or 5 days, the polish starts peeling away from the nail around the cuticle area. So all in all, this kit is great for very temporary gel manicure, and looks great for the first few days. But length of wear just doesn’t last unfortunately.

No matter how many times I asked them to be gentle with me, they rub and scrape waaaay tooo hard at every nail salon I have ever been to. Then that horrid drill! It gave me bad shivers. I do my nails at home now and I am shocked this kit is easy to learn and execute. The first time I used it took me three hours, but now I can do them in about 1.5 hours!

everything in there is high quality for the price. even though the brush hairs were falling out at the start, it is fine now. the colours as you would expect are not the exact same but they are beautiful nude jelly colours. if i had to comment on the colours they are slightly darker then what the pictures perceive them as. the light is easy to use and doesn’t feel flimsy and really cheap too. love everything in the kit and would buy the products again!!!!
