A good vacuum sealer for those of us with a tight budget
This vacuum sealer was practically the cheapest with the most features I could find on Amazon. Although there hiccups at the beginning such as bags not sealing properly and not vacuuming completely, I quickly learned to use the manual vacuum and seal feature which worked perfectly. Leaving the bags a few seconds longer after it has sealed allows it to do a better job of sealing. At this low price, I recommend this vacuum sealer. At this price, it is well constructed and a good value. I recommend this sealer.

Easily our most used kitchen tool.
10/09/2025 Update: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say enough good things about this vacuum sealer. I am still using it, I’ve shown my husband and other folks in the house how to use it. We are still sealing up anything that makes sense to do so. Even when buying large bags of frozen fries, fruits, etc. While still frozen I’ll portion out a 5+ pound bag into pound or half pound servings and vacuum seal them. This prevents so much from getting freezer burnt, especially meats! We have several cats in the home and I am making a lot of their food lately, like chicken tenders in a sous vide. As long as the meat isn’t excessively wet (I dry meat off with a paper towel) I don't need it to be frozen. I also like to buy bulk freeze dried treats and meats for the kitties and I can portion them and seal the rest. This tool still works as good as when I first bought it. It’s been tossed around and used for this and that in my kitchen by the whole family, it stores away just about anywhere. It’s extremely durable. PRO-TIP: I’ve learned that if I’m sealing up a bag that’s not necessarily intended for sealing, such as a cereal bag or ziplock baggie, I don’t wait for the light to go green before ending the sealing process, I cut it a bit short. Reason being is if you let those weaker simpler bags sit through the whole sealing process they may melt completely. So I just open it early to stop the process. This still seals the bag usually but there is a bit of residue you have to clean off the strip that gets hot. Cutting the seal process a bit short though does the trick for me, I get a good seal and no melting. Another tip is to get quality vacuum seal bags. The cheaper ones from the store are tempting, but they often just didn’t work as well or efficient as the branded “Food Saver” bags do, I’ve tried several and they’re my favorite. But you definitely don’t need to pay premium for a name-brand machine, this Bonsen Kitchen Sealer is better! Original Review: I use this thing everyday. Not to many buttons and controls so it’s quick and easy to understand. I re-seal all sorts of bags with it like cereal bags to brown sugar bags to just about anything that I buy from the grocery store that already comes in a bag. The suction is great as long as the bag is flat and not wrinkled up. I have used ziplock bags with this product and it works just fine. My stuff has never stayed this fresh this long until I started doing this with my foods more often. There was a noticeable difference and Im not throwing as much stuff out. If I want to seal something with liquids I just semi-freeze it first it’s that simple. I have sealed everything from slices of pizza I pop into my air fryer, to fully cooked hamburgers off the grill that I re-heat for a burger when I want one. I love making piles of breakfast burritos and sealing them for the freezer. They reheat so well and maintain their texture and flavor. Lots of these types of kitchen tools are expensive but this product is a huge value for money and works just as well as the more expensive options in my opinion. The tool isn’t bulky at all and easily fits into a kitchen drawer.

It does what it states
It's easy to use. Can store anywhere does not take much space. Could have come with more bags. Not heavy or cumbersome. Suction is good, speed is ok.

A Compact Kitchen Powerhouse: Review of the Bonsenkitchen Vacuum Sealer Machine
TLDR: The Bonsenkitchen Vacuum Sealer is an excellent entry-level or secondary machine for home use. Its compact size, dual 'Dry/Moist' modes, and inclusion of a generous 40-bag starter kit make it a fantastic value for preserving food freshness, especially for meal preppers and bulk shoppers. While it requires care with moist foods, its performance for dry goods is outstanding. I purchased the Bonsenkitchen Vacuum Sealer with the goal of minimizing food waste and streamlining my weekly meal prep. Its compact footprint—a key selling point for my limited counter space—and the substantial inclusion of 40 starter bags were what initially caught my attention, offering great value right out of the box. The machine is simple to operate with clear touch-button controls for its two main settings: Dry and Moist (often labeled as 'Vac' or 'Pulse Vac' on some models). For dry goods like nuts, coffee beans, or dehydrated foods, the 'Dry' mode is automatic, fast, and powerful, creating a rock-solid, airtight seal every time. The vacuum suction is strong for a machine in this class, effectively pulling all the air out to prevent freezer burn and oxidation. The 'Moist' or 'Pulse Vac' mode is where the Bonsenkitchen truly earns its keep for the price. This manual control feature is essential for sealing delicate items like soft bread or marinated meats, allowing you to stop the vacuum just before liquid is sucked into the sealing channel. This prevents a bad seal and is a function often reserved for more expensive models. It works well, provided you keep a watchful eye and press the 'Seal' button manually before any liquid touches the sealing area. The inclusion of 40 bags is very generous and allows you to start sealing immediately without an extra trip to the store. The machine's overall design is sleek and light, making it easy to wipe down and store in a drawer or cabinet. Pros Exceptional Value: The inclusion of 40 starter bags makes this an immediate, cost-effective solution. Dual Mode Functionality: Dedicated 'Dry' and manual control 'Moist'/'Pulse Vac' modes handle both liquids and delicate foods effectively. Strong Suction Power: Performs well for a compact model, achieving high vacuum pressure to lock in freshness and combat freezer burn. Space-Saving Design: Its small size is perfect for kitchens with limited counter or storage space. User-Friendly: Simple, one-touch operation for dry goods makes it ideal for beginners. Cons Moist Food Requires Vigilance: Sealing liquids or very moist foods requires manual interruption (using the 'Moist' mode) to prevent poor seals. No Built-in Cutter: This specific compact version does not feature a built-in bag cutter or roll storage, which can be an inconvenience if you use roll stock frequently. Occasional Sealing Issues: Like many budget sealers, a small percentage of seals may require a second pass to ensure airtightness. Verdict The Bonsenkitchen Vacuum Sealer Machine with the 40-bag starter kit is an excellent, budget-friendly entry point into vacuum sealing. It’s a 5-star product when judged on its core function, compact design, and exceptional price-to-feature ratio. It's best for home cooks, meal preppers, and hunters/fishers who primarily deal with dry or semi-moist goods and are comfortable using the manual 'Moist' mode to prevent suction errors. It has become a valuable tool in reducing my food waste, and I confidently recommend it.
