(Be Prepared to Sing Along) - First off, I am 16 years old and before seeing the movie Mamma Mia, was not familiar with any of ABBA's songs except for Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen. I loved everything about the film from start to finish: the cast, setting, plot, and, of course, the catchy songs that can make 40 year old men want to sing along! I immediately went home and bought the whole CD, listening to it repeatedly. I adore each and every song, and the whole CD deserves to be purchased, not just certain songs. Amanda Seyfried, who is virtually unknown except for Mean Girls, has a simply beautiful voice. Although in interviews she said that she does not plan on pursuing a career in singing, I believe that she would be very successful if she did. I loved every single song she sang on the album, and am stunned that "The Name of the Game" was omitted from the movie. Meryl Streep proved that she can really do anything. Her voice is amazing. Anyone who says otherwise is just wrong. She brings so much emotion to the piece "The Winner Takes it All." It's simply breathtaking. Contradicting many other reviews, I thought all three men (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Stellan Skarsgard) have wonderful voices. People keep saying that Pierce sounds horrible, but I don't know how they are making that assertion. He sings "SOS" and "When All is Said and Done" terrifically, in my opinion. Finally, Christine Baranski and Julie Walters harmonized perfectly with Meryl Streep in songs like "Super Trouper" and "Dancing Queen." Christine Baranski nails "Does Your Mother Know" and Julie Walters hits home with "Take a Chance on Me." My Favorite songs from the album: Honey, Honey Mamma Mia Dancing Queen The Name of the Game Slipping Through my Fingers (although not mentioned by many other reviewers, this has to be in my top 3 favorites. The song is really sad and moving, especially in the film--and the segment where Meryl and Amanda harmonize is outstanding) Does Your Mother Know SOS (LOVE IT) The Winner Takes it All I Have a Dream Thank You for the Music (perfect completion to the album) Review: Amazing Music! (Teen Review) - This soundtrack is not any worse than the original Mamma mia by ABBA. I love to hear these actors singing, especially Meryl Streep she's wonderful. Most of the songs are sung by Meryl and then also Amanda Seyfried, she's got a great voice aswell. This was such a wonderful movie, and the music is what makes it so entertaining and enjoyable, so I wouldn't hesitate about buying this album. I'm not disappointed at all except that a couple of the little things the actors added in the movie aren't on the soundtrack (talking or laughing isn't recorded). Also, "Chiquitita", "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do", and "Waterloo" aren't on the soundtrack which is very disappointing. And everyone says Peirce Brosnan can't sing but I don't agree. I think he can sing for sure, at least he's on pitch and can land a note. I would suggest seeing the movie before buying this album, if you're unsure of how much a fan you are. It's also better to listen to the music after you've seen the movie cause you can appreciate it more, and imagine the scenes in your head while you listen. I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND SOUNDTRACK!

No fault to seller
Not the sellers fault,.. but HUGE disappointment that Chickitita was not included in the soundtrack. That song was part of why I bought the "soundtrack" = if it's in the movie. Best sing-a-long song!

Fun, upbeat songs,
I work as a 'guest teacher'. Last week, I worked an assignment for 2 days (8 classes) teaching Chorus. Each class had a choice of 3 movies to pick from to watch. They all choose Mamma Mia! I didn't really pay much attention to the first 5 showing but after the 6th, I found myself actually watching the movie. By the 8th viewing, like my students, I was really getting into the songs and plot. During the weekend, I couldn't get the songs out of my head so I decided to purchase the Sound track from Amazon. All 18 songs downloaded onto my Kindle Fire, which is great, except I can't get the songs to transfer over the my Windows Media Play (Music) nor have I had any success in trying to figure out how to transfer the songs onto my MP3 players. I've purchased several MP3 format songs (singles) off of Amazon and have never encountered a problem. I guess it's different if you purchase an entire album. The entire album automatically downloaded, using Cloud, onto my Kindle. Because of this experience, I will NEVER purchase another album using the instant download feature. I will just buy whatever l CD I want, that way I can download songs onto my Music and MP3 player. Once done, I will import the music onto my cloud. Outside of this very annoying glitch, I am very happy with my purchase.
