These are a great alternative to sand or other media. These work great for keeping the water clean and are low maintenance. I installed these at the beginning of the swimming season but after several weeks our above ground pool had an algal bloom I couldn't shake. Pulled these out of the filter housing, they were green and covered in debris. Rinsed and wringed them out and then soaked them in a mild chlorine and water solution to ensure the algae was killed. Put them back in the filter unit and shocked the water again. That was two weeks ago and the water has been nearly flawless since. We use the pool daily. The algal bloom was my fault for neglecting the water chemistry. But, after cleaning and disinfecting the balls it's been great again. These are such a great value and easy to remove from the unit, rinse and replace. You never need to backwash which means no water wasted. We'll see how long these last but I would not hesitate to purchase a new set. They're such a good value.

These things work great! I was having to backwash my sand filter two or three times a week. I have been using these a few weeks now and have not had to backwash one time. I was also having a problem with algae. I no longer have any problems. My pool is clean and clear as can be. I read in the reviews that a lot of people said to wash them first. I did not do that and have not had an issue. Also, it says they are equal to 50 pounds of sand. I usually only need about 25 pounds of sand, but I put all of the balls in to fill it to the level it was supposed to be filled. I have not had any issues with the pressure or anything in doing this. It seems to be fine. I am so happy I bought these and recommend them to anyone.

I purchased these filter balls on Prime Day for a really good price, hoping that they would work as well as some of the reviews I’ve seen…they seemed like they were doing alright for about 3-4 days, and then one afternoon I went out to check on my pool and there was ZERO suction coming into my skimmer basket and barely any “clean” water being pushed back into the pool. I initially thought my pump had broken, but after my husband took it apart, removed these balls, and replaced them with traditional sand…my pump is working perfectly. So, while these seemed like a great idea, they were NOT! I do NOT recommend these at all!! It’s going to take me a lot of work to get my pool water back to where it should be, which is very disappointing because when we made the switch from sand to filter balls…my water was crystal clear.

I bought these last year and they worked great so I got them again this year. SO much better than sand and so easy and affordable! You won’t be disappointed buying these. I have a 10,000 above ground pool and they filter very well. The sand was always expensive where I live and I had to flush it every day. Not with this stuff. Highly recommend

These are great and reusable

Perfect. They do the job they’re supposed to. Ran them in my sand filter and my pool was green to blue over night. I backwashed with these and no issues!
