Are there 3 boxes or 3 applications in 1 box?

How many tubes of the product depends upon how much hair you have and how much needs to be colored. I usually use two boxes each time but can do touch-up with one box. Each box comes with one tube of product. Tip: wipe hand lotion around your forehead, ears and back of your neck to prevent the dye from staining your skin. After 10-15 minutes, jump in the shower and rinse out the dye. Shampoo twice and apply other products as you normally would. Some say they had dye on their bedding pillows and sheets. I have never had this happen. Maybe they did not rinse well or shampoo after the application. The coloring only lasts for a few weeks and the grey grows out as your hair grows out which is quick if your hair is short. So you might need a touch up session in between full dye sessions. Don't worry about the color when it is processing. It is not what the final color will be when you rinse and shampoo.

How many applications are in the package?

Believe me: there is about HALF an application in this small tube of color. My dear husband has a large head (wears XL hat) but has hair ranging from 2" on top to 1/2" on sides and back - so not a whole lot. I have to use TWO tubes of this to cover all his hair. I squeeze the tubes (Med Brown, Darkest Brown) into a plastic bowl and apply it with a hair stylist's brush. We tried combing it through the first time, and tiny flecks of hair dye flew ALLLLLLLL over the bathroom: counters, floor. (Luckily, he had a plastic cape on.) After applying the color (exactly as his sytlist used to do) using a comb and brush-on technique, I use my fingertips (with gloves on) to work the color down to the roots all over. He leaves it on for 15 min and the color comes out nice and natural - NOT like dense shoe polish, cuz I combine the two colors. I also use a small eyebrow brush to paint some of the same color onto his eyebrows. Makes him look 15 yrs younger with NO gray in the brows. Hope all that helps. With us on our own (65+) we have had to mimic the technique used at salons and hope for the best. His color lasts almost a month.
