Complete failure of a very poor product. The 3.5 mm headphone port is completely shorting out every time I plug it in with loud static and shorts and disconnects affecting my device, with as it tries to connect and disconnect with erratic spots of sound coming through as it goes into it’s spiraling death throes.

I bought this item for my dad considering nowadays phones dont have an aux port. I told my dad about the existence of the hilariously named "double dongle" and said I would get him one. He was struggling to play music in his car. He would normally plug a USB flashdrive into the port for his stereo system but wasnt satisfied using that music. He wanted to play it from his phone but his system isnt bluetooth compatible. Note: it's an installed system on his 2007 Dodge Magnum. I helped him understand the concept of the double dongle and set it up in his car. Now he can play audio from his phone in the car and still have the ability to charge his phone instead of choosing between either one. The only issue I noticed, but am not entirely sure who is to blame, is that the cable we connected to test out the charging didnt connect all the way into the port on the dongle. Also, not sure if it was the cable or the dongle, but it was "slow charging". I'm going to test out a fast charge capable cable next time and update the review when I do. Other then that it's a solid buy in my opinion. Only gave it 4 stars all around just to be reasonable considering its not perfect nor can it be "perfect".

Worked just as expected, for a while, then connection issues began to occur and I can't tell if it is because this adapter became defecting within a couple of weeks, or because the USB-C port on the tablet became a bit deformed by tension caused by having power and/or earphone cable hanging off device. Power and audio come and go now and require disconnect and reconnect on the adapter and to the tablet to function. I find it hard to never accidentally pull on this cable connection, so could be user error rather than a tablet port or adapter quality that are not well reinforced. Port on tablet seems to respond properly to a plain USB-C power cord connection, so I'll try purchasing a second one of these adapters to see what happens. Giving benefit of doubt until second test, so 3 stars.

The adapter causes weird behavior in a number of apps like YouTube and Spotify. For example, in the YouTube app, the overlay with the buttons and prices bar does not fade out when this adapter is in use. I'm giving two stars instead of one because it does indeed let me plug wires headphones into my phone and play audio over them, so it meets the bare minimum standard. But if I could, I would return this adapter.
