If it's mounted so that the connection points are on the bottom, it will resist water dripping from above, but it is specifically for *indoor* use.

Can this charge controller be used with a 400 watt 12v wind turbine?

Yes it can, and as with most MPPT controllers, should the turbine put out more than 400W in a storm, there won't be any damage but the output will be limited to 30A at the battery charging voltage, usually around 13.7 to 14.4 volts. In our experience, there is little likelihood of the turbine meeting it's rated capacity under most conditions. However - many wind turbines use a dedicated controller that will, among other things, control the turbine's speed. Check the manufacturer's documentation for any requirements they may have. If they do not require their own controller, this will be a good one.

When connecting from the desktop version of the app you need to use the VE Direct to USB connector. The software detects what platform you are using

What lithium charging values are programed in at the factory?

These settings are for 24v systems, the default is 28.4v absorption and 27v for float. These settings are fully programmable using the app.

Does it have an led display? No Does it work a million times better than Renogy? Yes It's simple and it works. Rock solid. My only beef is get the SMARTSOLAR version with built in Bluetooth as paying $70 for the dongle for this one isn't what I'd call fun.
