Went to Italy a few years back and brought an adapter (I'm American) for my phone charger, back up battery, and flat iron. It was a single plug adapter and got very hot when I tried to charge my phone which really freaked me out. It was also very difficult to plug things into. Took a lot of force. This past July I had another European trip, this time visiting France, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain. I wanted a new adapter and came across this one in my search. The reviews seemed good enough so I gave it a try. It worked beautifully, didn't get hot while in use, and was easy to plug things into. Having two usb ports meant I could charge both my phone and my back up battery at the same time, which was very convenient for me. And the plug worked nicely for my flat iron. I will say it was a bit bulky to pack but that's understandable given what it's designed to do so I didn't really mind. Thankfully, I read some reviews that warned me about the very bright blue light that goes on when the adapter is plugged in. I was able to put a light blocking black sticker over it that made it a non issue. My friend (who I was traveling with) had an adapter with a light as well but she didn't cover hers. It was quite the nuisance as I imagine mine would have been had I not covered it. So, just a heads up to anyone purchasing this: black out the blue light. 10/10 would recommend.

We recently travelled abroad to Europe - Portugal, Island of Sao Miguel Acores. We used these to power up and recharge all of our electronics. This is not a voltage converter, rather a plug adapter that will let you use your US Electronics as long as they have the required voltage operating range 120V-240V which most electronics do. My trimmer / shaver also worked as it was rated within this voltage range. These units also come with built in USB charging ports. While they worked i found that they are not quick charging. Unit is also very small which makes them easy to pack. No issues with them plugging into European outlets, whoever note that the round prongs do stick out so be careful how you pack if storing in your carry-on luggage / backpack. Overall satisfied with this purchase as the value for features given is excellent.

Yes this works well for charging phones, iPad and Apple Watch, however, keep an eye on the light that indicates the things are charging. I noticed that sometimes, whether I used it right side up, or down, with iPhone and Apple Watch plugged into it, the light went out. Perhaps this is due to it fitting loosely in the power outlet, or not? I’m not sure. So I gave it 4 stars.

I borrowed this adapter from a fellow traveler on a trip to Europe when I found that the adapters I had brought wouldn’t work with most of the outlets. The adapters I had brought with me had prongs that were flush with the back of the unit, but most of the outlets had these recessed spots where the prongs would connect. I hadn’t seen that before, but the adapters with the flush prongs absolutely wouldn’t fit. The Tessan adapters have a protruding block where the prongs connect to the outlet, so they fit into that recessed spot in the outlet. These come in a pack of two, so you can share one with another unfortunate traveler who brought the wrong type of adapter with flush prongs. I immediately ordered a 2-pack so they’d be there in my mailbox when I returned home, ready for my next trip overseas.

I took two of these on my Royal Caribbean UotS trip for Memorial Day weekend 2025. I know RC rules are different than other cruise lines, but we encountered no issues. They worked perfectly, are reasonably priced, fit snugly into the socket, and were a great additional option during our stay. As others may have mentioned, the international outlets can be found throughout the ship, so keeping one of these converters with you may provide an emergency charging option when you are away from your room. As a disclaimer, your mileage may vary. Acceptance by RC could change at any time, but I am thrilled with my purchase and plan to take them with us again on our next cruise.
