The divider works well. I cut it to size using a paper cutter because it was easier than scissors. Make sure you barely leave any gap between the edges of the divider and the sides of your tank; it's amazing how tight of a space some fish can squeeze through. The divider is nice and clear. The brackets aren't clear and they are visible in the tank, but they aren't too obnoxious. Finger-tightening of the plastic screws/nuts gets them plenty tight enough to hold everything together. Plus it lets you slide the brackets/suction cups into place after you've put the divider inside the tank. There are holes all over the divider which provide mounting locations as well as letting some water flow through. This lets your filtered water get to both sides of the tank, but also cuts down on the strength of any currents created by the filter (worked out great for my Betta). And for those folks who are mad because their divider is white instead of clear, try peeling the protective film off of the thing (see the handy video I made for you if you need help).

Clear plastic, but it comes with a film layer that needs to be removed. However, the film also makes the barrier more translucent than transparent, which is good when separating an aggressive fish. Feels sturdy, but still able to trim with a decent pair of scissors.

Was skeptical about buying but, needed something to divide my male guppies from females! Turned out fantastic, 10 gal tank perfect width, minimal trimming for height, nice and clear. Was worried about filtration being good on both sides, so far that’s a non-issue! My ladies are much happier now, the boys not so much!😜

This was very nice and clear in the beginning. It did not take long for the clear plastic to turn opaque. The main reason I took the divider out and gave three stars was, it does not have enough holes for water circulation. The suction cups took some effort to get them to stick.

My two pearlscale goldfish have been trying to kill each other. I honestly need to buy a bigger tank for them, but I'm broke af and this was a quick solution. I'd purchased a tank divider from one of the big pet stores, and it was SO ugly, flimsy, and poorly made. This is an amazing tank divider, it's barely noticeable in my tank. I had to trim down the sides a little bit to suit my tank's dimensions, but it was easy to do and looks great!

Not very sturdy, no instructions, and didn't seem to fit my tank well. I'm curious as to what this is made out of, however, because less than 5 minutes after putting it in, I went to check on my betta and he was dead. He had been lively, swimming around and ate his dinner and now suddenly he dies? I did rinse the plastic, but I'm thinking it's toxic if it killed him. Looking at other reviews, I see I'm not the only one who ended up with a dead fish after installing this. Very upsetting, tomorrow is new year's eve and I'm stuck explaining to my child that her pet is dead!

This product did what I needed it too. My female bettas were fighting and I needed to separate them. This was easy to cut and use in the tank. The suction cups I didn’t need but they were all there ready to go. It was big enough for how much I bought it for. I had extra left over. The build was good and I like it.

The material that the divider is made from feels exactly the same as a betta cup you'd get from Petshmo. It arrived bent in the middle and with a large streak of what looks like super glue or something similar, the suction cups are a pain to put in and won't stay in as they pop out of the socket if not forcefully shoved into it, and with it marketed as a 20 gallon tank divider, you'd think it would be at least the same height as a normal 20, not 3 inches shorter than the height. For the same price I could've gone to Wal-mart or a crafts store and bought a sturdier plastic pegboard, screws, bolts, and suction cups. This thing is basically a flimsy $2 piece of plastic molded into a "divider" that breaks under the slightest pressure that was thrown into the market for an absurd price. Don't waste your money, get something sturdier.
