Will this protect against zombies?

This is literally the ONLY WAY to destroy all zombies

Looking for a scuba diving spear to fend off sharks, will this hold up?

I have a lot of years of ocean diving and have had limited issues with sharks. A family member did have a scary issue with a seriously aggressive hammerhead while free diving among a school of dolphin about 30 miles offshore, so don't buy into the myth about dolphins and sharks! Camera housings, tanks, you name it, will generally work for guiding curious sharks on their way. When I was concerned I carried a shark dart (CO2 hypodermic spear) or a bang stick (with either it is the expanding gases that do the job). Both are driven home with a rubber tubing sling and are dramatically more effective than a knife, spear, or whatever nonsense you saw on late night re-runs of "Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges". Eventually I pretty much stopped carrying anything but an Ikelite housing. If you must use a knife for defense against a shark, there is only one proven method - as the shark approaches slowly remove your knife from the sheath, and while still in a crouched position, slash your buddy's leg, then swim like hell for the boat. (After repeated shark encounters you may find it progressively more difficult to recruit new dive buddies.) Dark humor aside, I can't think of a worse idea than stabbing a shark - they are better armed and more skilled at fighting with sharp objects than you will ever be, and they are in their element - you aren't. You probably won't see the attack approach of the one that finally decides to hit you, but you can discourage and avoid the rest. If push comes to shove, then shark darts will not only kill the shark but they will also physically remove them from your vicinity, and bang sticks are similarly effective. Keep in mind also that there are many other fish that can be aggressive and dangerous - divers occasionally get attacked by all sorts of creatures, in fresh water as well as salt.. As a final note, if you have an instructor who encourages things like carrying a spear for shark defense, you are being trained by a "hero diver". Hero divers are a particular breed of idiot who will get you killed. Find someone else to be your mentor. And if all your training was a quick course at some resort then please go get proper training - safe diving requires a great deal of mental conditioning and physical repetition - the life you save will be your own. Stay safe, have fun, and save the spear for use as a navigational aid when shopping on Black Fridays.

Is this a real deal kinda Spear or just a cheap point with a stick

I have one, after one use the tip bent, it's worthless, cheap and pointless unless you are a larper...it looks cool i guess but non functional for literally anything

As with the other M48 series of weapons the Talon is of top quality and utility. The length makes it a perfect walking stick, especially with the sheath on the end. This is an extremely practical weapon. The handle is short but well made and long enough to give you and advantage in a fight and short enough if you are in a tight spot, it even has grip at the base of the spear head itself. The nylon/fiberglass handle is very sturdy and nearly indestructible allowing it to take considerable punishment. The spear head itself is well crafted and extremely dense with a good shape. The designers did a bang up job on it. I have used this to pry wooden planks and actually as a slashing weapon against bamboo mats. It's design allows for easy removal even if sticks in something hard. With a whetstone it takes an edge almost immediately. Aerodynamically it is a bit off due to the light weight construction of the handle but if you choke up a bit you can get an accurate hard throw up to about 25'.

This spear is very heavy duty. I am happy with the blade and the stuff the handle is made of. I would buy it again.

Careful when you open cause you might just cut yourself! Shipping was a little slow but understandable with the holidays. Very well made and solid. A nice product.

WOW, was für ein Spitzenteil. Der Speer ist grundsolide verarbeit, Rasiermesserscharf und zusätzlich mehrfach verschraubt. Leider muss ich auch bemängeln, dass die Scheide aus Kunststoff ist und es schon einer gewissen Vorsicht bedarf, diese abzunehmen, bzw aufzusetzen. Bei unvorsichtigem Handling wird die Scheide beschädigt, bzw. von der,scharfen Klinge aufgeschnitten. Von euren Fingern ganz zu schweigen.... Der Schwerpunkt liegt ziemlich weit vorne, daher zum werfen nur für kurze Distanzen geeignet. Es ist eher eine Nahkampfwaffe Ich habe mir den Speer, zwecks besserer Griffigkeit mit einem elastischen Tarngewebeband umwickelt. Jetzt liegt er deutlich besser in der Hand Für die noch unentschlossenen sei gesagt, das die Speere von z.B. Kotte-Zeller für um die 30€ ( obwohl diese Firma wirklich zu empfehlen ist ) mit diesem Spitzenteil bei weitem nicht mithalten können. Nehmt lieber etwas mehr Geld in die Hand, von der Qualität kann einiges abhängen ! der Speer erhält von mir volle 5 Sterne. *****
