Responsive, well priced, on the go drone!
Way more fun than you think and a perfect Birthday Present! When I got this drone, I wasn't sure what to expect. It is reasonably priced made by a reputable brand, but how good could it actually be for $50? Upon opening it up, at first I thought they forgot the drone, but quickly found it was ingeniously embedded in the remote itself, making everything nice and compact. When I pulled the drone out, my next thought was.. Huh? It's so tiny! But in reality, that's what makes it so great! We were extremely surprised to find that the drone was incredibly responsive, the battery lasts super long, and its just super fun to manouver around the house! The fact that it is so responsive to controls makes a huge difference and makes it so much easier to control. Perfect for gifts! The price doesn't break the bank and I'd fully recommend picking one up for a beginner or child who wants to give it a try. Sorry for my bad camera work. Just get it, you won't be sorry.

Another winner from Holy Stone!
This is a GREAT little drone...Another winner from Holy Stone! Incredible technology in a tiny, fun package! The description says that this is a drone for the kids...and so it is...even if the "kid" happens to be nearly sixty! It is easy to fly, with the altitude hold function which keeps it set at whatever height you want. Headless mode is good for new pilots; you don't have to pay much attention to which way the drone is headed so forward is always away from you and back is always toward you, right is always right and left is always left. (One caveat to that...once the drone is paired to the transmitter at the beginning of each flight, don't move or turn around, and always keep the drone in front of you, in your field of vision.) Once you've got the flight mechanics mastered in Headless mode, you can free yourself by turning that feature off. Now you can move around, turn in circles and fly your drone anywhere, but you have to keep track of which way the "nose" of the drone is headed. That is not too hard, because the nose has a bright white LED headlight, and red and blue LED's underneath,on the sides. You just have to remember that when the white light is facing you, the controls are reversed...forward brings it closer, back will move it further away, right moves it to your left and left will move it to your right! Once you get used to that, you may never go back to headless mode, because it is so much more fun when you don't have to stay in one place! There are so many fun things you can do with this drone, and it is small enough to fly inside easily, so you don't have to worry about the weather. It will do flips in any direction, and the "Fast Rotation" button makes it spin in place quickly, either staying at the same height or you can move it up and down while it spins...A real crowd pleaser! Practice landing it (there is a one-touch landing button, or do it yourself) in tight spots, learn to fly it through and around table legs, or take it outside and kick up the speed for some racing fun! With the LED's, You can fly at night and easily keep it in sight. As they say, The sky's the limit! Now, let me say a word or two about the Holy Stone Customer Service Team...Fantastic people!! To be truthful, I did have an issue with the first one of these that I bought...the altitude hold function didn't work correctly, and I had some trouble controlling it. But an e-mail to the company brought a quick response, and after answering a few questions, a new one was on it's way! The new one is performing flawlessly, and I just ordered one for my niece for Christmas! Tip: Don't hesitate to contact these people! They are not only knowledgeable and helpful, They are also very friendly, and genuinely want you to be happy with your drone! I own several Holy Stone drones, and if something isn't quite right, or if I just have a question, I know I can count on everyone at Holy Stone to be there for me. (SPECIAL shout-out to TIFFANY and OLIVE; both have given me LOTS of time as I learned this new hobby!) There is also a FB page for customers to share their comments, suggestions, questions and videos.

Start here, master this quadcopter then upgrade to video/racing drones
This is a long and honest review, so keep that in mind as you read this. the TL:DR version - Absolutely worth the price if you're looking for a beginner drone. It's a great drone to ensure that you have the dexterity and ability to fly. Its fun, easy to use and you wont find anything better at the price point. Long version: Some background on me, I fly video drones for video projects and racing drones for fun (even though they're technically racing drones I actually do more freestyle flying). To start, I bought this drone because I wanted to find something that I could use for a "kid flight school" and also just have fun at my nearby park without the worry of losing/breaking one of my really expensive drones. I wasnt really sure what to expect since I have bought way too many sub $100 drones and ended up returning them after the 1st flight. Once I opened the box, I was surprised that it looks like a baby version of the Phantom 4, which is not a bad thing. It actually looks good, and I was so happy with all of the extras and spare parts that it brought. One pretty fun surprise was the notebook that came with it, which I have my kid use as a flight log (since a good drone pilot always keeps track of this). Getting started is pretty easy: - Charge the Drone - Read the Manual while the drone is charging - Grab 4 x AA Batteries for the controller - Make sure everything is tightened (which is was but my experience with other drones has been bad) - Once drone is done being charged, press a few buttons and you're ready to fly As an experienced pilot - I flew the drone indoors, and for the most part, it was stable and did what I wanted. I kind of made it into an indoor quarantine game to be honest. I also flew the drone outdoors during a calm day, and it worked as good as a more expensive drone. I also got to use some of the added features, and it actually worked pretty well. However, when the wind started blowing, it was time to land and wait for the calm. The app options also seemed to work surprisingly well, but I'll be honest and say, I did not spend too much time on them. I like to start with the bad: - The Camera quality could be better, its not bad, but its not great. It's good enough for some standard quality stuff, but again, its a sub $100 drone. - Outdoor stability was good as long as the wind is calm, but as soon as there is a strong gust it does sway a bit. This is more than likely because its really light, but its one thing to keep in mind. - Lack of warning beeps or sensors. Since i've been spoiled, these are features that I missed on this drone, but it does make sure that the pilot works on skill. - Radio distance/range - I'd say about 100-150 ft would be the max comfort zone for this drone. - AA batteries for the controller - I get why, and that batteries are cheap, but ugh. Now for the Good: - Quality - its plastic, but it held up really well when my kid crashed it. We brushed off the leaves, and it took off right after. This is a huge deal for us. - Flight time was about 8 minutes per battery, which for the size and charge time is really really good. - I already mentioned that the drone is really light (which kind of sucks with the wind), but it makes it really easy for transport. I basically put it back in the box it came in, then into a backpack and I can ride my bike to the park. - The included hardware - This is actually awesome, and I cant stress this enough. It even included prop protectors, which is extra for the larger more expensive drones. - The app features are actually kind of cool, I think im going to check out what the next model up brings - It was so easy to use, I really didnt even have to read the manual, but im glad I did to learn about the added app features. - PRICE! Seriously for this price, this is the best bang for buck. This drone is not for shooting movies, or racing. This is the perfect drone to master the mechanics of how a quadcopter works! Before you upgrade to the next steps use this drone and get comfortable. We've all heard of someone who lost or crashed a $1K drone, and TRUST ME if you start here, you'll know better! Happy Flying!
