What a great little set of step bits. Used on a variety of applications and perform as well as, if not better than some name brand bits. These have been used on 1/8" round and square tube, 1/4" steel I-beam, and flat steel, as well as other lesser intense drilling applications, all w/o fail. They are supposed to be anti-burring, which they have on some applications, but often leave some behind...an easy enough fix with a small file or tough fingers. They are pleasing to the eye and come in a cheap, but conveniently portable case, so now I don't lose them...which is why I bought them in the first place.

Great step bits, especially for the price. I'm a locksmith who has to drill steel doors and frames fairly often and have been using these for over a year and they're still in good condition and working well. Considering that I you get four great bits for about one third of what a single name brand bit costs, I'm pretty dang impressed. Even if all four bits were to hypothetically go bad tomorrow, I'd STILL buy them again, considering I figure I've already MORE than gotten my money's worth out of them.

Cutting oil may extend their lifespan but don’t expect the same durability as a $60 single bit. Does the job well for the price, though I burnt up one of them on a project. If I had used cutting oil/WD40, they may have lasted longer!

Me and another friend of mine saw the add. One the first things that we were surprised was the price. Normally you find it in stores at $50 or $70. So, I decided to buy one set. He asked me to buy onether and ended buying two sets. When we began to test them, they performed pretty awesome. Every drilling was smooth and precise. An excellent quality product that I would recommend to other people. If someone else decides to buy it, don't hesitate and give it a try. Regards to all.

I bought these to drill 2 holes through 1.25" thick steel, I was tired of regular bits grabbing and wanting to tear my arms off...one 7/8 hole and one 3/4 hole. They worked far better than I expected, I assume these will last a long time when used with proper cutting oil Updated - 4/7/17 I've been using these to clean up poorly cut holes from my CNC plasma cutter. I have punched out at least 40 holes with the 1/2" (max) Bit. It is still holding up better than I expected. If you don't know anything about Plasma cutting it creates a hardened surface where it cuts, It is tough to drill through and ruins regular bits quickly.

These are okay for the money. The center punch doesn’t work consistently, but it’s okay. I feel like the bits lose their points after little use. Used 1 to do 3 holes in painted car body steel. After 2, it wanted to walk out of the center punched divot. Also, the size markings are unbelievably hard to read, and I have near perfect vision. Smaller diameters have the tiniest of font.

I needed some bits for some new projects and this kit worked out nice. Works perfectly on metal and wood (so far). Left no abrupt edges that needed anything other than a quick filing on the metal edges. Now all of my correct size bits are in one place.

I love these drill bits, nice and sharp, and with the assortment you always have the right size. And the little box they come in make them easy to keep track.of
