For newbies, Piper includes the rudimentary stuff about recycling, heating/cooling, detoxing your closet, and easy vegan recipes but also goes deep, delving into specieism, inequality, and the ethics of re-use. She simplifies things like creating & using green cleaning kits for the home, (delivering in 4 pages what you'd spend an afternoon and untold clicks finding online.) In another writer's hands, "going green" could come off as preachy or dogmatic but Piper has a conversational and wry writing style that keeps you turning the pages.
