US Toy Top Hat

I got this for my six year old grandson to go with a magic set for his birthday gift. I'm going to put a red sash on it, and make him a cape. The bad reviews were decieving.It fits on my head fine so I doubt it will be too small for him. I think it is great for the money. . It's not flimsy at all! It looks just like the picture. I don't know what they expected, but I thought I'd take a chance and I'm glad I did! It's great a TOY hat! VERY PLEASED!

Used it for kids Slash Halloween costume and they are still playing with it, a good buy.

This is the second hat of the stove pipe style that I purchased. I get lots of looks and smiles. My main complaint (which would probably apply to any generic costume hat in this category) is that fit is very tight and because there is no liner where the hat contacts your forehead it quickly gets irritating. This hat is a little more flexible than the taller model that I purchased so I recommend it a little more. For comparison: My head measures about 22-1/4". The size of that hat is ok it is just that the shape was not quite right for my head. Solutions: Tight fit? squeeze the brim to see if you can bend the hat for a better fit. Irritated forehead? Use glue or a hot glue gun to apply a thin piece of smooth material - spandex would be ideal. Break it it! Before Halloween start wearing the hat for a half hour or while watching tv - same as you would for new shoes.

I purchased this hat for a birthday party photo booth prop. It looked really cute when worn, it was your typical flimsy costume like plastic top hat. It isn't as tall as I would think a top hat should be, but it was not an issue for my use. I personally believe this would be an acceptable costume prop as well as photo booth prop. It was a good size for teenage boys and adults without being excessively big or small. I highly recommend this product for general purposes! I was happy with my purchase.

Everyone else complained that the hat was too small; 4.5" high, child-sized, too small for an adult. Since what I wanted was to customize an inexpensive mini top hat for a Halloween costume, that would've been perfect for my purposes. But I must be the only one whose hat was too BIG! Mine was 5.5" high, and fit on my head! It was a bit tight at the forehead, but I could very easily have worn it as a hat. Which, if I'd been looking for that... yay! Since I wasn't... not so much with the yay. I ended up purchasing a more expensive mini top hat (covered in glitter. Not exactly what I'd planned), and decorating that.

The hat was much smaller than I was expecting. It's not a mini hat like some but it’s got to be a child’s size. I am going to try and work with it since it's a steam punk costume base I think it will still work as it's okay for that look to be a bit smaller than normal. If you are looking for an actual top hat this is not the product for you. To be honest it’s not even tall. It's more like a derby hat. As I’m writing this review I like the item less and less, which seems to fit the theme of the hat. Less is not more.

Nice hat. I bought for adult and little small for that.

I know that some people said this was a really small hat, but I didn't think so at all. I bought 2, one for me and one for my 7 year old daughter for our Steampunk Halloween Costumes. Her's was a bit big and mine fit me just fine, and I don't have a small head. They are sturdy and durable and will last for years to come. I am really glad I purchased them because the price is amazing for the quality.

OK for fancy dress, not great quality though.

I didn't really like it at all. It was a gift to a friend who is a stage performer and suggested it would be good to throw into the crowd after his encore. Quality is uncomfortable.
