Why do you need a boot?

Very good. The bottom of the Stanley mugs do chip, this stops it. The mug is also heavy when full, and this gives a cushion when you put it on a flat surface and just feels a lot better daft as it sounds. But my car has a pincer type grip coffee cup holder, which destroys the finish on these and scratches them up, the boot stops that happen and it goes in the coffee cup holder really good now. I may look like a 54 year old male posing as a 12 year old girl (according to my kids) with my sparkly blue Stanley and 'boot' (I just need a straw topper now) but WHO CARES, I am happy.
