The plates & bowls are quite heavy but that makes me think they will survive family meal times. They feel quite glossy so might need extra care if you don't have the luxury of a dish washer & dry up using a tea towel. I found them a bit slippy. They arrived really well packaged & absolutely nothing broken which I was dreading.
