- Cashew Pieces, Large, Raw, 10# Bulk

Some of the recipes we make call for raw cashews. These are good cashews available at a good price. The challenge at times is getting through the whole bag before they go stale though.

I was a little nervous buying raw cashews after the variety of reviews I saw online combined with the larger than normal monetary investment needed just to try them. I found this item to be the most reasonably priced with the best reviews online and at area coops, and I liked the security of knowing that Amazon was delivering and would probably help with a return if necessary (though one reviewer had mentioned the company was very helpful with the return). We were surprised with the cashews texture, they are softer than we were used to, but then again, we, as most people, are used to ROASTED cashews and these are raw (though cashews you buy raw are actually partially steamed to remove the toxins from the shell), so of course they won't taste the exactly same or have the same texture, nothing else has identical texture or flavor raw or roasted. My advice is give these a chance- they appear to be a quality product and I can't wait to start cooking with them and even roasting them with different spices for snacking- yum!

We make milk and chocolate milk weekly from these wonderful cashews! They are delicious and are the creamiest nuts! We are pleased with the quality of the cashews and the good price in bulk.

My family has been buying these cashews for a few years now. They are fantastic for dairy alternatives for soups and cheese and all kinds of plant-based stuff, love them. And definitely a better deal than the grocery store and less packaging than trader Joe's. Also very few bad nuts that need removing.

These are terrible and should not be sold as a food product. I buy a lot of cashews, many different brands over the years and these have an unnatural plastic chemical smell and taste that I have never experienced in a cashew before. The moment I opened the bad I noticed the odd smell, I tasted one and it tasted like plastic. I spent $60 on 10lbs so I proceeded to use them to make cashew yogurt so I didn’t waste my money and the whole batch was ruined because that plastic chemical flavor permeated the yogurt. I can’t tell what it is but it is not right and completely overpowering. Please buy a different brand. If you already bought this product and noticed the same thing, even though it says this item is not returnable, I was able to get additional help through the chat bot and was issued a return after noting the problem was defective and had quality issues.

I have begun to go to plant based diet transitioning the family so I wanted to start with my own milk and meat substitute, cashew cream, cheese, etc. These cashews are in my opinion excellent in price and taste. I keep them frozen so they remain fresh and take out what I need as needed. I would absolutely encourage buying these cashews I believe you'll find them worth the price AND fresh tasting. Hopefully they stay affordable but more importantly so fresh and delicious!!!

There's a saying, you get what you pay for. These are perfect example. There's a reason why planters charge is so much for their cashews, their quality is exceptional. For cheaper cashews I would expect there to be more bad pieces showed through. After all it is a living plant and nature has its way. These all look appear to be fine, with a few bad ones here and there. As to be expected. But the flavor of these cashews are just terrible. I mostly use cashews to make cashew milk or cream. I've used other brands that taste amazing and make cashew milk comparable to store bought, like Sincerely Nuts cashews, but not these. I'm going to try and roasting them and see if that creates a good cashew otherwise I'll have 10 lbs of cashews I'll never use.

I’ve been buying cashew pieces locally to make vegan yogurt and cheese, since there’s no reason to waste money on whole cashews I’m just going to grind up. I thought these bulk cashews would be the same, but they’re not. These aren’t just broken, they’re spotted with lots of dark things I don’t want in my finished products. There are lots of bits of dark brown membrane stuck to the surfaces. There are also lots of dark pits, almost tunnels, in them, which google tells me are from the tools used to remove the membrane, pressing some membrane into the nutmeat. I don’t mean a few pieces are flawed, I mean the vast majority of the pieces have prominent dark spots. They taste fine, but if I use them as-is, my vegan yogurt etc has lots of dark spots, which isn’t the look I’m going for. Or I can pick them over after I soak them to remove the worst of the spots, which is tedious. The finished products taste great, so I’m taking off just one star for aesthetics.
