Well designed, high performing, inexpensive powerhouse for boat and RV owners.
This macerator pump is powerhouse! Hefty, well built, sturdy, and with high quality attachments it really impressed at this price point. With the ability to power the pump via a cigarette lighter or with alligator clamps to a battery this is perfect for emptying RV holding tanks without a lot of fuss. The user does have to be careful when attaching this to the RV connections and should suport the weight of the pump with blocks so it does not hang down putting strain on the pump or connections. Two hoses are needed to use the pump to its full abilities-1 to empty and 1 to rinse with clean water. Very easy to clean, portable and convenient.

Great valuea
Works like it should. Used it when I winterized my camper. Ground up the solids and pumped everything to the septic tank 75 feet away. Easy to use, and easy to clean up! Pump isn't loud at all, and it doesn't leak! Great value! Power cord needs to be longer, but that's not really a big deal.

They're all the same, buy the cheapest.
These pumps work fine. As well as or better than the original Flojet. But I haven't been able to find a replacement impeller or rebuild kit. But it really doesn't matter because at about 1/3 the cost of the Flojet brand these are great. And probably about the same price as a rebuild kit. The big news is that they are all the same. Cast in markings confirm that. The only difference beyond the color of the label is that some include an adapter for garden hose that is the wrong thread for American 3/4" garden hose. Seems to be British straight pipe thread. Almost works. This particular one came with the correct thread adapter. Buy the lowest price one you can find here. Advice: use a clear adapter in front of this pump so you can see what's coming into the pump. Never, never ever run the pump dry. The rubber impeller will melt itself. Use the largest inside diameter hose you can. 3/4" garden hose rather than 5/8". I get the cheap one at the "Freight" store. Inspect inside the pump housing to remove tangled hair and so called flushable wipes. They are not and will burn up the pump. And don't forget your Cousin Eddy hat and bath robe!

Good but needs a better switch.
I have had this for three months now. Use it daily to empty tanks. (50 gal tanks) What I have found is that the electrical wire needs to be a bit higher rated. The car type accessory plug was the first thing to overheat and quit working. Then, today the switch quit making connection. This is most likely due to heat and the copper pieces straitening out. I took the switch apart, made a slight bend in the contact piece the rocker contact sits on and put it back together. Works like it should. So what the manufacturer should do is use some heavier wire, and a better rated switch . Overall the motor works great, just have to get power to it. Update: the pump got stuck, I could feel the motor try to run. With the instructions, I disassembled the pump, cleaned it, reassembled it and it is working well again. Be sure and do a good rinse after using it.. I do blackwater then grey water then a fresh water rinse.. Update, 4 months old. Needed to disassemble and clean again. After disassembly and cleaning and reassembly, it worked like new. Just need to find out how to get replacement gaskets for it. It is very easy to disassemble and reassemble. Took all of 15 minutes to do it. The only other thing of note is the switch gets on the hot side while emptying my two 50 gal holding tanks.. ( probably about 60 gal between the black and gray water)

Good luck. You’re going to need it
UPDATE: I was contacted by the vendor after this review saying they would work with me to make things right. I responded respectfully and thanked them. Crickets after that. I think should I ever need another macerator pump I’ll look for a different manufacturer and I’d recommend same to anyone looking for a good one. Long semi rant here. First let just say that when these pumps work they are freaking awesome. Having said that: 1) the very first pump I bought about a year ago was dead. Returned it and got a replacement. 2) the replacement lasted just shy of one year then seized up. The pump was never run dry and was never left alone. 3) ordered a replacement pump because I thought, hopefully, it would be better 4) received the pump but they sent the wrong one. Problem because: a) to return the pump I have to drive to an authentic UPS store. That’s approximately 60 miles. One Way. b) I needed to dump the tank for visitors for the weekend 5) got another replacement pump and this one has a bad off/on switch. Luckily I had kept the old power cord. 6) the power cord is ridiculously short so be prepared to add wiring to reach a battery. 7) the company graciously put an inline cigarette lighter connection that is absolutely useless. Cut that thing out and bypass it. 8) the new power cord does not have an inline fuse. I took the old power cord and spliced in a fuse to kick off before unit overheats. There are probably many more things I could say about this unit, however, my good manners prevent me from uttering them. BTW I’m a 72 year old woman with a background in technical maintenance and quality assurance. God help the woman or man that tries to deal with this.

Quite and fast
I'm giving the macerator five stars because it's the first time I've used it and it was flawless. It was quiet and powerful and it got the job done quickly. I haven't had to clean it out yet, but I don't believe it will be a problem. I've owned several macerators and so far this is the quietest so I'm going to give it some time and then I'll re-review it.
