Most official Gibson truss rod covers are widely available for ...
Most official Gibson truss rod covers are widely available for under a tenner. This small piece of plastic with just Les Paul written on is nearly 3 times the price of those. Personally I can't see why, however, it is the one I bought.I own a Gibson LPM which had the rather naff looking E-Tune logo on the cover. I wanted to replace it with a genuine Gibson part and I wanted it to say Les Paul as the famous name is nowhere else on that particular model. Had I wanted to get one that said Les Paul Custom or any of the other model names it would have cost me under Β£6.So five stars for the product but reduced to 3 for the price. On a side note the cover has a white line running around the outside that matches the white of the writing. Just mentioning this because it is not clear in the photo.

A Genuine Gibson replacement part, as per OEM specifications
A direct replacement for the Gibson Les Paul Standard, this is the OEM part which is fitted to the Les Paul Standard at the factory in Nashville. Ordered to replace a scratched cover, this product is a perfect replacement. Please Note: The images shown are of the older 'Standard' font style, which was used on Gibson truss rod covers until the 2008 (?) Standard model. The cover I received was of the newer font variety, as shown in the picture below. I used the cover on a newer LP, so this was correct, but beware for pre-2008 models as I believe the old font cover is no longer produced.

misses the mark, doesnβt really look right when compared to the real thing
it almost looks the part, i brought this for my SG for the vintage look, itβs close but not really any different to the other custom shop truss covers for gibson just has les paul engraved on it, it should have a much thicker white edge which you can clearly see when googling real vintage sgs, none of these re issued parts seem to offer that. Itβs also absurdly priced I mean ridiculously over priced for a piece of plastic!

Great finishing touch
After having swapped out the pick guard for a wide bevel BWBWB guard from CreamTone (South Carolina), this was the perfect finishing touch to make my '61 SG Reissue look just that bit more era correct.

This new plate although only a minor detail certainly makes the head stock look better.
Don't know why some Les Paul standards come with a blank truss rod cover. This new plate although only a minor detail certainly makes the head stock look better.
