Pathophysiology
I think this book has been originally written for professional medical practitioners. However the book also provides a layman like me with valuable medical info concerning various ailments and diseases Reading of the book sometimes reminds me of need to look up a medical dictionary like Dorland's for some technical words but following such check-up I could grasp the content. I'd like to point out that an interesting thing aout the book is forward-positioning of Chapter 2 handling of Genetic Disease in the book composition and that the Chap 2 is followed by the section on Immune system, infectious disease and so on. I found this arrangement of chapters very interesting and very informative. Currently I'm in the middle of reading the book authored by Dr. Peter D'Adamo who is expert on blood group study. By rcross-eferring between two books, your understanding of pathophysiology will be further enhanced.,

The book keeps explanations clear and easy to understand while still delving into more advanced concepts
The book keeps explanations clear and easy to understand while still delving into more advanced concepts. Each system and disease is discussed in the same categories making it easy to look for information or details. It also makes it easy to compare and contrast different areas.

Easy to read and understand
Concise and easily understandable for a second year Med student. Great tables and charts. A few mistakes/typos though. Some organ systems too superficial to be useful (in particular, heme)

A required reading at most colleges
For the MSN nurse, a required reading at most colleges, but it's approach was well planed. Each chapter's end ties directly into the next chapter to read. Very systematic with great case studies.

Well organized
I like this book better than Heuther, both if which are required. It goes into more detail on the cellular level.

The clear organization and clinically focussed writing make this a great textbook to start off your medical learning.
I've been really happy using this textbook to supplement my learning. It divides it's chapters up by organ system, with a focussed overview of the system's physiology and a DEEPICT-esque discussion of a few of the key diseases for the system. It provides clinically focussed descriptions f these diseases, and gives lots of good explanations for the specific clinical manifestations of these diseases. The clear organization and clinically focussed writing make this a great textbook to start off your medical learning.
