My pet likes the flavour yet should be consumed as prescribed as it contains salt. Try choosing a product which doesn't contain salt.

I’ve been wondering why my dog has had an upset stomach for the last few months. I’ve been reviewing all of the things that may have been newly introduced to him, and these dog biscuits were one of them. I now see that they expired in February, but I purchased them in March! Shame on Amazon for allowing this to leave their warehouse! Here I am, two months later, and I just realized they were bad. I am looking at the American headquarters location for the manufacturer located in India, and they misspelled Harrisburg with two S’s. Should have known.

Good: Vegan Gram flour (aka chickpea flour): naturally gluten free & anti-inflammatory Not so good: Vague ingredients 1. rice flour: long grain rice brown? brown rice? White rice? All are gluten free & a good alternative for dogs with wheat allergies. But, white rice flour has a higher glycemic index so it can make blood sugar spike. Maybe not a big deal for an active dog who is trim without food sensitivities. However my dog has food sensitivities & anytime he has something higher on the glycemic index, (e.g. too many carrots), he ends up with ear issues & itchy paws because too much "sugar" causes inflammation to his system which leads to an over production of yeast. My boy is so sensitive, even something in small quantities can throw off his gut balance and he'll wind up scratching his ears & licking his paws for a few days after consumption until the offending ingredients are out of his system. Keep in mind: I don't know if these biscuits have white rice flour in them because it only says "rice flour". 2. Vegetable protein: source? If the vegetable protein is primarily carrots, then again,, not a good choice for my dog. 3. Permitted color, preservatives & antioxidants: "permitted"? according to who? These treats are made & sourced in India. I don't know if their standards are the same as the US (& im not saying US standards are the necessarily great either but i am at least familiar with them). So thats why I'd like to know who gave permission & exactly what is being added, especially when it comes to preservatives. Potentially problematic ingredient (for some dogs): Jaggery: unrefined sugar, typically 70% sucralose. Again, not a good choice for my dog for the same reasons carrots aren't. If you have time, please check out the video I attached which shows the nutrition label, batch# & exp date close up. Rating based on: 1. compatibility with my dogs (unusual/special) diet needs: 1 🌟 2. Selection & quality of ingredients: 1 🌟ambiguous rating due to labeling ambiguity 3. Choice of dog breed for packaging: 5 🌟. Bully breeds are very near & dear to my heart & that pup is gorgeous. My boy is a bully who rescued me in 2020 (yes, you read that right, he rescued me 😊). I've known more bully breeds WITH food sensitivities than those without. I just wish these treats were better suited for dogs, especially bully breeds, who have issues of this nature especially since its rare to see a bully on a product label. Anyways, even though I'm enamored with their "model" of choice, its what's inside the bag that I'm truly concerned with. So with that being said, my rating is 2 stars & thats being generous (sorry). I hope my humble opinion helps you in some way. Thank you for reading.
