My dog would run around in circles to receive his treat. No wheat which is exactly what my dog cannot have (allergies to wheat)

First I need to say our Golden has had "allergy eyes" since he was young (he's 7 now) and after being neutered and losing his older brother within a month last year, he went from his healthy weight of 95lbs to 120lbs! He has always "free-fed" (social eater, never over ate) but was pretty inactive/depressed. Although, at first I didn't think the Natural Balance Limited Ingredient food was the highest quality (via dogfoodadvisor dot com website), but because of multiple allergy issues (what we thought were mostly seasonal type, not food related) on the advice of our Vet we switched our Golden Retriever over to the Sweet Potato & Fish formula AND reduced his portion to only 1 cup per day. He also said NO OTHER TREATS unless it was a few pieces of the same dog food. The idea was to limit his food to only the specific ingredients! So, I was thrilled to find the same limited ingredient food offered in a treat! Between Aug. 2013 - Jan 2014 I've ordered 4 bags. Each bag has contained high quality treats that always smell extremely fresh. In fact, that is a quality I truly respect about both the food and the treats... both have such a strong (but not bad!) scent you can tell it's fresh and high quality. There have been one or two broken or partial biscuits but no hollow ones as some have described. The only anomonly was one bag arrived with teeny-tiny little bones (about 1/4" x 1/2" vs the others that are about 1" x 2"). The total oz was the same so I shrugged it off & the next order that arrived were the standard size. Not sure what that was about and when I checked my order and the website I couldn't find any explanation. The dog didn't mind and just got 3 nibbles instead of one, lol. Great value!

If my dog could write this review himself, it would probably just say “MORE.” But since he’s busy licking crumbs off the floor, I’ll speak on his behalf. Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Rewards Crunchy Biscuits (Venison Recipe) are basically the gourmet charcuterie board of dog treats. The fact that they’re limited ingredient and grain-free makes me feel like I’m doing something good for my dog’s diet (and his mysterious tummy). But let’s be real — my dog doesn’t care about ingredient panels; he just knows these things crunch like a dream and taste like happiness. Every time I open the bag, it’s like I just announced the world’s greatest party. He comes running at full zoomie speed, eyes wide, ears flopping, and skids into the kitchen like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. The biscuits are big enough to feel like a “real” treat (none of that crumb-sized nonsense), but easy enough to break if you’re trying to practice portion control… or at least pretend to. Bonus: No weird smell, no greasy hands — just wholesome, deer-powered joy in biscuit form. Final verdict: These are the kind of treats that make your dog suddenly remember all his training commands — even the ones he’s “forgotten” for months. If venison were currency, my dog would be a millionaire by now.

With a 111.779% increase in price since 2016, we have gone to sourcing this locally because the dog still loves these.
