I got this as my very first kindle product. I was skeptical on buying it pre owned due to past experiences. BUT the kindle worked like it first came out of the box! I love how small and compact it is, it fits in my hands so much better than I thought! The screen is a lot different than expected but I actually prefer this screen over reading on a phone/tablet. I love that it has all the features that are relevant and none that aren’t. Battery life is absolutely wonderful but I will say it takes a few hours to charge completely (stays charged for around a week for me). It has helped me with my migraines so much without sacrificing my favorite hobby. It is a bit slow sometimes but I usually just restart it and it’s back to normal after rebooting.

My first foray into the realm of Kindle. I've been a "book" person for a long time. A relative of mine, also a hardcore "book" person, took the plunge recently and discovered life with a Kindle is good. So I decided to give it a try. Bought a (like new) used Kindle (11th Gen) ...the basic model ...and yes, there is life in reading without the "book". The basic Kindle is light as a feather; the *screen* measures 5 13/16" tall by 3 9/16" wide ...giving a 7" diagonal screen. The overall dimensions are 6 3/16" tall by 4 3/16" wide. I thought this seemed a bit on the small side but I haven't had any issues reading with it. What it does do is make the thing incredibly portable; you can stuff or carry the Kindle just about anywhere. Battery life is very long and, if you opt out of the ads, probably a bit longer. The ads are for books and *only* appear on the cover screen; you will *not* be getting any ads once you sign in and wake up your Kindle. For a small, one-time fee ($15?) you can banish the cover screen ads permanently if you have a Kindle with the cover screen ads. Readability with the no-frills Kindle is better than reading a book. Why? Because you can change the font and, more importantly, change the size of the font. Your only image adjustment is brightness. The basic Kindle has a black and white presentation ...enhanced by the fact the "white" is actually more of a warm white than a bight white. Whomever researched the contrast and background tonality level hit the nail on the head. The best part of the Kindle, is you can read at night without the need for any external lighting. And no, your eyes won't get tired reading in the dark once you dial in the brightness level. Handling the basic Kindle can be a bit of a challenge as the sides aren't very wide; it can be easy to accidentally touch the screen, which advances the page before you intend to. In addition, the Kindle is fairly thin. Consider adding a flip open cover; it will add a bit of purchase and makes holding the Kindle a lot easier. Plus, most of these flip open covers have a magnetic catch that keeps the cover closed and puts the Kindle in standby. Using the Kindle is fairly easy once you get the gestures squared away ...the biggest to learn is turning back the page because you will invariably and inadvertently advance the page when you didn't mean to. The other thing you need to understand is you must have the Kindle app on your cell or computer; this is how you download your reading material. The Kindle is linked via Bluetooth to your download device; this is how it gets the "books" loaded to read or add to your library. To some this will be intuitive, to others (like myself) a wee bit of rocket science; call it generational. Overall, I have no complaints with the basic Kindle; it does exactly what I want and that is to offer a viable reading experience other than a book.

I turned in my old kindle for a credit (not much of one but $5 is better than nothing and a discount. I am loving this thing. It is small and very lightweight. Battery life is amazing.

It’s perfect! I have loved every second of having a kindle. I waited a few weeks to review to be sure I actually liked it and test all the features. It’s perfect for taking on the go, it’s small enough to fit in my pocket but big enough to read without straining my eyes. It’s good to read in bed without a light. The battery life is better than I expected, it lasts days on a full charge for me. It appeared without a scratch and looked new.

Good start for a fussy reader. Still getting used to reading more than I am used to. Battery life appears to be great, speed is above par and the clearness of the screen keeps your eyes from getting tired. This product fits in my pocket for ease of carrying.

My daughter loooves her Kindle she bedazzled it to give it a signature look. I'm so happy with the purchase because my daughter literally read a book in 2 days because it was easier to read. Although we only had it for a few days she takes it EVERYWHERE WE GO and now enjoys reading. Something that I have been trying to get her to do prior to no avail. She loves how she can zoom in on the font to her liming and the brightness of it. 10 out of 10 for me. A great investment

On 10/16/25 I purchased a “Like new” Kindle Reader 11th Gen 2024 Release. I noticed right away that occasionally when I tried to turned to the next page, the reader would skip multiple pages. It was no big deal, it only a few pages and I could quickly find my place. Now it’s happening every 3 or 4 page turns and it’s becoming very irritating. More importantly, the battery doesn’t hold a charge. I have to charge it DAILY instead of every 5 - 6 weeks. I’ve only had it 8 months. This is my 5th Kindle. I’ve never had to charge them more than weekly, and that wasn’t until they were 6+ years old. This e-reader is at most a year and 1/2 old. The original owner probably returned it because of the page skipping issue, and now the battery is dying? I thought batteries on “Like New” e-readers were supposed to be - at a minimum - 90% capacity. I believe Amazon should offer me a replacement “Like New” e-reader, but I can’t find a way to chat or an email address. Calling means being on hold forever.

Ich habe mir den Kindle 11. Generation gekauft, weil ich ein kleines, leichtes Gerät für unterwegs wollte, das auch in eine kleine Handtasche passt. Da ich bereits das Vorgängermodell des Kindle Paperwhite besitze, mit dem ich vor allem abends und nachts lese, wollte ich allerdings für ein zweites Gerät auch nicht mehr viel Geld ausgeben. Als dieser Kindle zertifiziert und generalüberholt mit Werbung kurze Zeit für 69 € im Angebot war habe ich bestellt. Ich muss sagen, dass meine Erwartungen an das Gerät nicht sehr hoch waren, wurde aber positiv überrascht. Es war das erste Mal, dass ich ein Gerät "zertifiziert und generalüberholt" gekauft habe und habe eigtl. mit kleinen Fehlern gerechnet. Doch dieser Kindle kam tatsächlich wie neu aus der Verpackung. Es waren keinerlei Gebrauchsspuren festzustellen. Ich habe ihn dann erst mal vollständig aufgeladen und einige Bücher heruntergeladen. Danach habe ich ihn auf seine Funktionsfähigkeit überprüft und festgestellt, dass alles einwandfrei funktioniert. Auch der Akku hält, was versprochen wird. Nach zwei Wochen mehrstündigem Lesen täglich zeigte das Gerät immer noch 38 % Ladekapazität an. Dabei ist zu berücksichtigen, dass der Akku erst nach einigen Ladezyklen seine volle Kapazität erreicht. Die grüne Farbe sieht sehr hübsch aus und der Reader liegt auch sehr gut in der Hand. Das Display ist im Unterschied zum Paperwhite nicht plan, sondern im Rahmen eingelassen. Das finde ich jedoch positiv, weil man so nicht ungewollt eine oder mehrere Seiten weiterblättert, was mir beim Paperwhite des öfteren passiert. Was dieser Kindle im Unterschied zum Paperwhite nicht hat, ist Smart Light (die Möglichkeit, die Beleuchtung von eher kaltem Licht zu gelblichen warmem Licht zu verändern), was vor allem in den Abendstunden oder nachts ganz angenehm ist. Allerdings besitzt auch dieser Kindle die Möglichkeit der Schwarzweiß-Umkehr (weiße Schrift auf schwarzem Grund). Wasserfest ist der Kindle auch nicht. Wer aber auf Smart Light verzichten kann und das Gerät auch nicht unbedingt mit in die Badewanne oder den Pool nehmen möchte, ist mit diesem Kindle gut beraten. Die Schrift ist sehr kontrastreich und knackig scharf, vielleicht sogar noch einen Tick schärfer als beim Paperwhite. Bei hellem Tageslicht schalte ich die Beleuchtung ganz aus. Das Display ist unbeleuchtet heller als beim Paperwhite und die Schrift sieht wirklich wie auf Papier gedruckt aus. So lese ich tagsüber mittlerweile lieber mit dem "kleinen" Kindle. Wer zusätzlich noch etwas sparen will, nimmt den Kindle mit Werbung. Das heißt, das auf dem Sperrbildschirm eine Buchempfehlung von Amazon zu sehen ist. Mit einem Wisch über das Display gelangt man zur zuletzt geöffneten Seite. Ganz nebenbei: Werbefrei ist in Wirklichkeit kein Kindle. Auf der Startseite werden auch bei den werbefreien Geräten Buchempfehlungen auf Basis der bisher gekauften Bücher angezeigt, nur eben auf dem Sperrbildschirm im ausgeschalteten Zustand nicht. Wen der Wisch über das Display stört, der kann gerne 10 € mehr ausgeben und hat dafür z. B. die Möglichkeit sich auf dem Sperrbildschirm die Titelseite des aktuell gelesenen Buches anzeigen zu lassen. Farbe hat der Basis-Kindle auch nicht. Aber um Comics zu lesen oder Fotobände wie z. B. Reiseführer anzuschauen, wäre ein größeres Tablet ohnehin die bessere Wahl. Der Kindle hat auch die Möglichkeit, Hörbücher anzuhören. Da er keine Lautsprecher besitzt, muss man ihn dazu allerdings über Bluetooth mit einem Lautsprecher verbinden. Dadurch verkürzt sich allerdings die Akkulaufzeit. Ich nutze diese Funktion nicht und höre meine Hörbücher über Handy oder Tablet. Um Akku zu sparen, schalte ich W-LAN nur ein, wenn ich Bücher herunterlade. Mein Fazit: Wer einen kleinen handlichen Ebook-Reader sucht , einfach nur zum Lesen um sich damit die Zeit beim Zugfahren oder im Wartezimmer beim Arzt zu verkürzen oder tagsüber zu Hause zwischendurch, der kann hier getrost zugreifen. Er wird den Kauf nicht bereuen. Wer allerdings vorrangig abends oder nachts liest und sich dabei durch das eher kalte Licht gestört fühlt, der sollte eher zum Paperwhite greifen. Und wer etwas Geld beim Kauf sparen will, der kann in beiden Fällen es mal mit einem generalüberholtem und zertifiziertem Gerät mit Werbung versuchen. Ein Risiko geht man ohnehin nicht ein, denn sollte man einen Fehler feststellen, kann man den Reader innerhalb von 30 Tagen zurückgeben.

Ich habe mich für einen Kindle Renewed entschieden und bin wirklich positiv überrascht. Womöglich hilft meine Erfahrung ja bei der Kaufentscheidung, da ich selbst Zweifel hatte ein gebrauchtes Gerät zu kaufen. Ausschlaggebend war dann der Preis und die Option ihn wieder kostenfrei zurückzusenden, sollte es nicht wie erwatet sein. 😊 📦 Erster Eindruck Das Gerät kam schnell an und macht einen nahezu neuwertigen Eindruck. Ich konnte keinerlei Kratzer oder andere Gebrauchsspuren feststellen. Optisch sieht es wirklich aus wie neu. 🔋 Zustand & Nutzung Auch der Akku ist in einem top Zustand und hält lange durch. Der Kindle funktioniert einwandfrei, das Display ist makellos und alle Funktionen laufen ohne Probleme. Im Alltag merkt man überhaupt nicht, dass es sich um ein generalüberholtes Gerät handelt. 👍 Was mir gut gefällt - Gerät sieht aus wie neu - Akku hält sehr lange - keine sichtbaren Gebrauchsspuren - funktioniert einwandfrei - tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis 👎 Kleiner Nachteil - Die Verpackung hätte etwas hochwertiger sein können. Sie war recht schlicht und nicht besonders schön. Da das aber nichts mit dem Gerät selbst zu tun hat, stört mich das letztendlich kaum. 📌 Mein Fazit Ich bin rundum zufrieden mit meinem Kindle Renewed. Das Gerät wirkt wie neu, der Akku ist top und technisch gibt es überhaupt nichts zu beanstanden. Wer etwas Geld sparen möchte und kein Problem mit einer etwas schlichteren Verpackung hat, kann hier bedenkenlos zugreifen. Ich würde ihn jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Works great and the battery last for weeks without needing charged constantly. I read on my commute to and from work which is about two hours a day and the letters are nice and clear. Ialso wear classes and the backlight is really good.

Items arrived well packaged & wouldn’t have known it was a refurbished product. Bought 2 and both are great.
