The book just tells you to look things up. There is no answer key to the workbook portions so you have zero idea if you are correct in your answers. Also, for example, in Section one, the book tells you the article are based on whether the word is masculine, feminine or neutral - but does not give you rules to how to figure out what the word is - tells you to just memorize them. Very disappointing

I was hoping it would contain easier to learn phrases.

This book takes you from the very beginning , pronunciation and names of letters to pronouns, vocabulary and grammar. I know nothing about German so this is a great start. Very goodEnglish explanations, easy understand and track so far. Contains exercises as well.

i’m a bit disappointed- none of the answer keys are accurate to work being written. So you’re just guessing on answers to not be able to find the real answer properly, therefore not being able to learn efficiently. wanted something hands on to work roughly but this wouldn’t be considered that for me.
