This is the only soil mixture that I will ever use to start ALL my seeds before I put my plants in my garden. My seeds always germinate in this great potting mix!

The quality of the mix (bit of material I have to pull out before using) is better than most but there are other mixes that I find better than this. One of the main things I grow is lettuce and this doesn't behave well with my setup (1020 tray with 72 cell insert, indoor starting under grow lights). This may work better for other plants but lettuce wants to stretch out quickly, and because of the fertilizer that's in this it the seedlings start putting on leafy growth pretty quickly and even with me hitting my trays with a breeze from a fan and having good lighting for seed starts (over 10K LUX, up to about 15K.) the seedlings get top heavy and fall over as the stem doesn't stiffen up fast enough. Once again this may be fine for other plants, but I'm not interested in getting more of this as it's pretty expensive and I stocked up on another brand I like the most. Another issue is this isn't very much mix. It's not enough for two 1020 trays so because I'm growing multiple types of plants and I start 4 - 5 different types and I plant multiple times through the year I need large bags of starting mix at a good price, and I can add the fertilizer I want to add. This is too much to pay unless you don't care about cost. I bought this to give it a try and after testing I now know I want to add my own fertilizer so I have fine control over the feeding. I like to start with something with more P (NPK) for the first feeding, next use something heavier with N, 3rd feeding go back to what I used 1st time with more P, and then after that stick with what I used the 2nd time that's heavier with N. That's worked well for me with lettuce and brassicas. So, I'll stick with fine tuning my fertilizer routine and use a mix that doesn't have any of the main nutrients so I have complete control. Lastly, and others may find this OK, but if this had the same volume of the peat but increased the amount of perlite in it it would be better IMO. I added perlite to this and even with that the fertilizer in this was a bit too much for lettuce and my setup.

Im an urban gardener with an average size lot; A big bag was too much but 3 smaller bags are better so I can store till I need them. I generally use for flower seeds from small pansies to sunflowers and it does the job. I use it in the seed starter and it doesnt dry out like the cheap ones. Put a bunch in a bucket and over saturate it to start. Light weight for this old lady.

Helped my seeds germinate. I tried regular soil and this side by side with seeds from the same packet. The seeds in the regular soil did not even germinate and the ones in this mix had nearly 100% germination. Worked for me

I planted my first veggie garden this year and started all my seeds in this. They all grew healthy and produced a lot of veggies. I also used it to start some flower seeds that have produced an abundance of flowers. I’m in FL.
