Do these contain the self heating feature?

Yes they do. A heating element made specifically for these is included with each meal

Do these contain soy?

That is unknown. There was one vegetarian meal in the group. They are the standard US Government issue MRE's. You might want to research that and see if there is soy in any meal.

Do they have to be kept frozen?

No. They’re completely shelf stable, which is why the military uses them in the field.

How much does one pouch feeded ??

One pouch will feed 1 person. There are always items I don't eat in these things. I wanted something I could back pack & havent opened the cases yet. However some of the newer MRE's are (plus) kits. These are not. The plus kit's provide the basic 2,000 calories. You'll lose weight. The plus kits offer 2,4 (5) 000. You will be alright on the plus kits.
